The Range beanie is based on the famous USMC (US Marine Corps) beanie hat. Made from lightweight, breathable yet very warm grid fleece. The size of the hat has been adjusted to fit perfectly with any ear protectors. On the front and back of the hat there are two soft velour Velcro fasteners for easy personalisation. At the top of the hat there is a small velour Velcro square for an identification patch. In addition, there is a small zip pocket on the back of the hat for necessities like earplugs or other similar small items. On the back, directly under the Velcro, there is a drawstring loop that allows you to hang the hat on a carabiner. Thanks to the small dimensions of the hat, you can always have it in your bag. Features: Made from lightweight grid fleece, with velour Velcro panels front and back for personalisation, a small velour panel at the top of the hat for an identification patch, a small pocket on the back for necessities like earplugs or other similar small items, a drawstring loop on the back for hanging the cap on a carabiner. Any accessories in the pictures are for illustration purposes only and are not included.

Perfect hat
Very comfortable. Not too hot. Not too cold. Excellent features. I usually pouch in the back to keep Emergency cash. Perfect for some folded up 20s. Stretchy enough to fit almost any size head. Well worth the money. I bought one in tan as well.

As "Exactly as Described" as you can get, minus one.
So the description is right on. All the pics look like they were pulled off of the one I received. Patch size, locations, and zipper/hang loop on the back. Its light so it doesnt overwhelm you, but it is lighter duty. So I would suggest this is good for 30 degree weather or higher. Two things to consider though. First, this thing has little to no stretch, outside of the fabric giving when you pull. So that means that you have to order the proper size, otherwise this will be quite uncomfortable. For reference, I have a 7+ noggin in cap size, and the L/XL fits perfect. The second thing is minor, but its in the description. I ordered two of these, one black and one OD. The description in the black states it has a "Drawstring Closure"... it super does not. It is one solid piece. The only "string" on this guy is the non-adjustable hanging hoop in the back. Now the OD description (both are screenshots above) changes the description to "hook and loop closure", so velcro. I am fairly confident that the difference in description is due to different vendors, and that's fine. I am just concerned that the second cap is going to be different than the first, since its different sellers, and different descriptions. As of the time of writing this, I haven't received the OD cap, so I cant say definitively. But long story short, I got exactly what I was expecting with this Black Cap purchase.

Snug
It is comfortable and sits snugly. For me it is kinda tight and doesn’t cover all the ears but a good buy.

Pretty neat, a little different than typical
I like it. Seems to have a pretty high warmth value for being light and thin. Just don't expect it to be the equivalent of a thick wool watch cap. You can put a patch on the front or back. There is also a zippered pocket on the back. Not sure what a person needs that for, or would even put in it, but ok. Suppose you could hide a handcuff key in there. It's not very noticeable and people wouldn't expect a pocket in a thin hat... The areas for the patches on front in back will allow a typical American Flag patch to be attached. I personally feel that it looks kind of dorky with a patch that large though because the patch does not to conform to the curvature of your head. I put a small size nametape and a similar size "cateye" patch on the back and those bend around my big melon better. Great hat with out of the ordinary features for a reasonable price. I like Helikon stuff.

Go to cap for winter
These are some of the most comfortable and well designed caps. Well worth the price because they last many years. Thank you very much 😊

Not impressed
Even just wearing it around my apartment, it's not really keeping me even noticeably warmer than not wearing it at all. Leaves the bottom of my earlobes exposed, with massive gaps for air to get up around the back of my ears or front of my ears. It's so thin I can see between the waffle patterns and actually see through it. I'm not sure why you would want to buy something that's meant to keep you warm, when it's marketed as light and breathable, couldn't seem like breathable is going to keep you very warm, and sure enough in the time that I've wanted outside, it doesn't. Not even worth the 15 bucks I paid for it.

Warm, light packable fall/winter hat.
I have owned this Helikon hat now for some time and have worn it during some very cold days and nights. I tend to keep my hair on the shorter side and this hat always does its job even closer to the 0 degree mark. I keep it inside of my Helikon L7 jacket for easy access when I may need it. This hat can be neatly folded and stored inside of mostly any pocket you may have. The pocket in the hat itself is silly in my opinion but may be useful to others for storing small items. This hat is quite comfortable and will keep your head warm when you need it to. Great for emergency bags and general usage!

This is the third one I’ve purchased
I now own three of these hats. Two of The tan one of the green. They fit perfect, I will occasionally use the Integrated cord loop to attach this hat to my climbing, harness or backpack. It is the perfect fabric weight for winter wear and non-exertion Summer evenings.
