Vornado VFAN Vintage Air Circulator Fan, Chrome

I bought this fan nearly 4 years ago, and used it constantly, 24/7 year round. I have a vintage Vornado fan in nearly every room of the house (green, white, chrome) because they are so beautiful, sturdy and QUIET. I also have a bunch of newer Vornado fans but they are not as well loved as my vintage style fans. This chrome one is the favorite of mine though and has always been at my desk or work table.Well, the bearings on it began to give out. I was devastated, because the only sellers who still had chrome were (and probably still are) inflating the price far above retail because it's been discontinued. While I love the others, this chrome fan is just a work of art. It seriously is that beautiful and blends in with my industrial/machine-age themed office.I reached out to Vornado to see if anything could be done and they immediately took very good care of me. I am happy, once again I have my chrome fan quietly circulating the air around the room (I hate fans that blow on you directly) and am here to tell you that Vornado is an excellent company. Their products are amazing, and they got the "bringing back the retro" thing right. They nailed it. Why? Because unlike many of these pretentious hipster companies, Vornado actually HAS been around since the 1940s and they're just bringing back a classic that they perfected- just with the metal grill a little closer together because we've gotten dumber as time has gone on and safety! I have a true vintage Vornado fan as well, and find that these new releases are the closest thing you can buy today. Even the box it comes in is fun and well-designed.Thank you, Vornado!! I'm never going to buy another brand.

This is my first Vornado. The wife and I chose this vintage model because it reminds us of our old Westinghouse fan. This thing is small yet moves some serious air. We have a large room that opens to the second level and this fan pushes air all the way up there. It is a very sturdy design and the polish looks great. At first I was a little hesitant because of the price. I'd never spent so much on a fan (air circulator) before. This is well worth it the money. We leave this thing on day and night. It doesn't get hot and we've had no issues.

This is a great fan. It is a room recirculator. It moves a lot of air, more than an ocillating fan. I bought this one to circulate the heat from a fireplace insert; and that is some serious hot air. It sits right in front of the insert and stays cool due to the shear amount of air it circulates. The style is gallery material; a nice blend of deco, pop, and industrial. The motor is well sized for it job, I do not know why they still use the enamel wired coils on the motor, it may be to keep the noise leve down, but an induction motor might do better and save some watts.You can purchase fans a lot cheaper. You get what you pay for. You pay for looks and lots of air movement. I would recommend this fan not only to my friends but my mother.

Beautiful... really beautiful.... nice air too. The only reason this doesn't get five stars is that the motor plays a note. I had considered returning the fan for a replacement, but lost track of time and missed my window. The motor plays a note when the thing runs, more than any fan I've had. And you can really tell that the typical house electricity is not 100% at all times because that note is constantly changing with the normal fluctuations in power. That said, the note is now being filtered by my brain so I don't notice it as much... sure wish it wasn't there though.

I had purchased a Rowenta Stand Fan less than 2 years ago, and it no longer works. The plastic that contained the pole cracked for reasons unknown and I had to toss it. For the price, I was very disappointed, and I decided that not only would I shop for a table fan, I also knew it would never be a Rowenta. After searching on Amazon, I found this fan to be very highly customer rated, and thought I would take a chance. Although a hefty price, I could not be more pleased. It is a perfect size, provides great cooling, and looks adorable to boot!I would recommend highly!

This fan is awesome! I will never buy another brand again. The air flow even on low speed can be felt across my room. I have had the fan running almost non-stop since I received it. I don't know what other reviewers call noisy, even on high speed all I hear is a normal electrical hum from the motor. Just right for those who need white noise to sleep. Very sturdy construction, not like modern plastic fans. I bought the silver chrome color to look good in any decor. I will be buying one for every room. Makes the cooling from the AC more effective, saving on my electric bill. Great little fan, I love it.UPDATE: 8/2019. I have had this fan since 1/2018. With the exception of a 10 day vacation, and cleaning, this fan has been running nonstop. It is as quiet and operating as well as the day I received my purchase. All other fans I used before this were trash in 6 months if they lasted that long. As I said before, I will never purchase any other brand if and when this one dies. If I want a fan for another room, this is what I will buy.

Been using daily for 4 years now and it’s still going strong

約20畳の部屋で稼働させています。価格差は約2～3倍となりますがピコサーキュとの比較＜目的＞室内の空気撹拌、静かに空気を動かして欲しい。　ピコサーキュ・・・弱運転でも風切音が大きい（低い音でゴーっとなっている）ので耳障りな音に感じた。映画を見るときは止めてしまう。直近の風は強く感じるが5mほど離れると風が散ってしまっている様に感じる。　ボルケーノ・・・弱運転では耳障りな音がしなかったため消し忘れ多発。不快は音はしない。直近での風はピコサーキュの方が強く感じる（音のせいもあるかも）が5m離れると同様とまではいかないものの風を感じた。ボルケーノの方が静かで不快な音がせず、風を押してる感が強いので、ピコサーキュと入れ替えることに。ピコサーキュは洗濯室内干し専用に。ピコイオンに期待（効果の有無は不明ですが）

Chrome arrived first. Cheap packaging, box not sealed. May have been a re-gift, or whatever you call it when you receive something another customer returned. I am very impressed with the look (I have a "thing" for chrome). Lowest setting is effective @ 2-3 meters and as close to silent as mechanically expected. Very quiet. High speed is good to 5 meters and much quieter than a normal fan pushing the same amount of air, which is less than a box fan would move. The vortex effect is not nearly as good as the Turbo Aire I use to have, perhaps the company should add a bit more power to the highest setting. Value... about $100 overpriced for what I got. But I have to concede that show chrome is expensive. The Gunmetal on the other hand... A+ for packaging on this one. I definitely know I got a unopened package. Fan itself was in a lint bag instead of plastic. Hard to believe these two fans came from the same company. Vortex effect on high was slightly better than the Chrome but still could use a bit more power. 5 settings instead of the three the Chrome comes with and low is even quieter, if that's possible. If I got this one in chrome, I would have got everything I expected for the money I payed. This fan was slightly smaller and $50 cheaper. Unless you have a chrome fetish, go for the Gunmetal. All around better, or at very least the same. Over time I may decide the Chrome is worth the money I paid and the Gunmetal is a real steal if they are still going strong 25 years from now. My hope that these fans are pre1980 quality was the deciding factor over sending the Chrome back, but I would have kept the Gunmetal regardless.
