Does a good job of shuffling cards.
I do not like how noisy battery powered card shufflers are. This, manual, card shuffler works great and is so much quieter. The only complaint I have is that the handle used to operate the shuffling mechanism does fall out easily. When operating it you just have to apply a bit of inward pressure and all is fine.

Easy to use!
The media could not be loaded. I have three kids: eight years old and five year-old twins. They all love playing various card games, but none of them can really successfully shuffle cards at all. This card shuffler has fixed that! I even prefer to use it when our family plays Uno together so that I'm not having to shuffle a larger deck split in two piles and then consolidating the two smaller piles. This gets the job done all at once and does a pretty good job of it. As you can see in the video, this is one of my five year-old twins shuffling the cards with no problem at all. The parts are all plastic and I do wonder if it'll hold up to the use, but so far, it's doing well. The plastic drawer is very loose and falls out easily if you move the shuffler and can get lost or broken easily for that reason. Every once in a great while, a card will slip into the shuffled pile in the opposite direction it fed in, but it's only happened a couple times out of the many times we've already used it. It does, also occasionally jam, but since you're turning this manually, you can stop right away, give a half turn backwards and then that usually fixes the problem right away. I know some may not prefer manual, but at least I don't have to worry about batteries and in the event of a card jam, it's easy to stop and fix the problem. Even with the few imperfections or concerns, I still think this shuffler is a great item for families with smaller kids who cannot shuffle by hand or if you're looking for an easy way to shuffle large quantities quickly.

Great shuffler - until it breaks.
We bought this shuffler because it was the only one that got as many as four stars. It worked beautifully for five weeks until the plastic handle broke. For some reason Amazon is letting us return it even though we bought it more than 30 days ago. Bravo, Amazon!Having said that, I immediately ordered another one. My wife and I need a shuffler because our old hands (73+ years) just won‘t do it any more. As I said, this was the only one that got as many as four stars and, for the most part, it workedwell enough. It is a little finicky about how you load the cards, but we got much better at that the more we used it. It also works better on newer decks than older ones, although it worked on two decks that we spilled water on. Not well, but it worked. The problem is that unless you are careful and pay attention, the handle comes out of its hole when you turn it. We think it broke because of coming out and being put back in so many times. With the new one we are going to find a way to permanently fix it into the hole. Tape? Glue? I’m an engineer and my wife is equally clever so we’ll figure out a way. If it stays in the hole there is no reason for it to break.Like I said, we couldn’t find any that were better, so we’re sticking with, and recommending, this one. Btw, it’s tricky finding the crank if you don’t know where to look. It’s attached to the bottom.

Not quite perfect
I chose this shuffler because it was manual. That means that in the event of a mis-feed, I can back the cards up and retry. I have had to do that a number of times, but no big deal. It does a fairly effective job of shuffling.I think the thickness of the cards has a lot to do with the performance. The clearance between the wheel and the guard is 4 of Phase10 cards, 3 Five Crows cards, 3.5 DOS cards. My initial test was with Five Crowns and I was pleased, but playing Phase 10 led to a lot of jams. I restricted the distance from the wheel to the clear plastic cover and got much better performance, But what happens when the cards get older and maybe swell with age? The answer is an adjustable throat plate, but that adds to the expense.Look at the photo. The arrow points to a ridge that prevents the card tray from being pulled out at an angle. You must pull it straight out for about 1/2" before you can tip it. That is difficult to do because the only way to pull the tray out is by using the cutout at the top and that forces tipping the tray. I am going to modify the tray and put a little know on it so that it can be pulled straight out. Yep, that makes the tray pull out easily.Lastly, there are 4 spots on the bottom where it looks like 4 rubber feet would go, but they are empty so the shuffler slides around on the table a bit as you turn the crank. I will add rubber feet.

Over a year old and still shuffling
I bought this shuffler 14 months ago when arthritis was interfering with my shuffling. It's been great for thick decks for board games like Wingspan, Machi Koro, Ticket to Ride (with an adapter), and Shifting Stones. So far, no issues with the crank - still in one piece. No issues with card damage - manual gives complete control - reverse when the shuffle doesn't interleave. And no batteries!
