Great speakers for a great price
So these were the most expensive speakers i had on my list as I am a poor college student. But all the other speakers on my list didnt catch my eye so i decided to splurge on these. So once it arrives it comes in three different boxes and everything is plastic wrapped and all the cords are tied up, so you know they arrived safely. Just follow the picture on the box on how to hook everything up. Once set up these speakers were amazing, the bass shook my desk and i enjoyed this alot because I'm a huge bass fan. Whats awesome is the rear speakers actually play background sounds like cars honking or the wind blowing and the front speakers do the same but provide sounds that are closer, and the middle speaker plays the voice sounds in the movie. So when they say surround sound they mean it. Luckily my room is small so i was able to reach the speakers to where i wanted them but if you plan on using these in a huge room your going to need some kind of cord extender.Moving on, the black gloss look of the speakers matched my monitor perfectly. Coincidentally i also have a black router, shiny black external hard drive, and a gloss black phone, so when they are all on he desk together it seems like it was some kind of package deal lol. Lastly the control pod is AWESOME. You can turn up the volume easily by spinning the wheel (awesome for those wanting to be Dj's :p) and then there is a mute switch so when you want some quiet time its just a flip of a switch no need to turn the volume down, you can just hit mute and when your ready to get back on your computer it'll be at the same volume you left it. The bass control knob is also on the pod. I just leave it all the way up on max bass volume, there isnt really a difference, like when you have bass completely turned down it doesnt play but as soon as you start hearing it it doesnt increase in volume from the max. Lastly on the pod it has an aux in for plugging in of ipods and such which is pretty convenient and also a headphone jack for night time working. the only problem with that is the pods volume does not control the headphone volume, you have to change the system volume to be able to lower the headphone volume. And just to save people from future problems, make sure your computer or tv or whatever is at least 5.1 surround sound capable so that you get sound from all speakers, other wise some of the speakers wont produce sound. To wrap this upPros: Relatively cheap, GREAT sound and bass, appealing to the eyes, control pod for easy access to speaker controlsCons: A little too packaged (can be a pro is some cases to prevent damage during shipping, a lot of wires so make sure you have some kind of entertainment system to hide them behind, not much bass variety (but the max is fine for me, its not booming unless you blast the volume), short cordsOverall these speakers are great and all those cons dont affect me at all, i just foresaw what other people might experience in different situations, BUY THEM!!

One of the best experiences I have had.
This set is fantastic for the price. I did a lot of research. I would have had to spend a lot more to get compreble sound quality. You can really crank these up without any distortion. They work well for both music and gaming. I was surprised how well games sound worked on his system. I know this will sound a little silly but the first couple of times that I played games on this system I kept looking around behind me for the crickets. I built a wrap around desk for my computer sytem so the speaker are spaced just right. When I first got the unit I set the speakers up at there furthest reach with the cords that they profide on the floor and they sounded great. If you should need more cord just get some speaker extention cords you can get online or at Radio Shack. They will not diminish the performance of these speakers. I have all my speakers on extension and have not had any trouble (my desk is 4" x 8", a boat in other words.)They look fantastic also.Just a word about Cyber Acoustics' service if you should need them. They are just amazing. It was a week before the warranty was up and one of my speakers blew out. Probably my sons playing there music at the highest level you can get out off the system I have. One simple email on how I isolated the problem by switching cords around and a new speaker was on its way. I also got it in 3 days. The agent I got was just delightful. The same agent works with you from start to finish so you aren't telling a different person your story over and over.

Great Speakers but...
The speakers have been great, I have a 5.1 card built into my computer and it matches with it perfectly. However, the volume control mechanism that comes with it is faulty, it puts itself into mute for no reason, and maintains the appearance of not being in mute, it took a few hours of troubleshooting to figure that out. The only fix is to remove the volume control, which was one of the major reasons I chose this product. I have attempted to contact Cyber Acoustics about this since I have had the product less than a month but they have been less than helpful. So I say great speakers but not worth the hassle for someone who will not be able to fix this themselves.

Good sound for the price, but cheap construction
Got it, hooked it up, and the rear speakers won't produce sound. So I tried plugging the front satellites into the rear ports... still no sound. Every other port/speaker works... but I effectively paid for a 5.1 system and got a 3.1 instead.[EDIT]Amazon replaced the "bad" system, and everything seems to be in order this time around. All ports and satellites are working properly. Sound quality is pretty decent for this price point. I had to set the rear speakers to be a bit louder to make them of any use, but that's fine. The system overall gets much louder than I'll ever have use for (in a 10x10 room), so no worries about it being loud enough. I'm still worried about the build quality due to my first experience, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. So far, so good.I have to give kudos to Amazon for being so quick to correct problems. I've been an Amazon customer for probably 10 years now, and they're easily my favorite store of all time. My experience purchasing from them grows more and more positive with each purchase.Cheers.[EDIT 2]The volume controller is cheaply made. Wiring inside must be loose or something, as the bass has really sporadic control. If I leave music playing for a couple hours, the subwoofer eventually starts kicking out at max bass, even though I keep the bass dial pretty low. I have to wiggle the controller around and play with the dial a bit until it stops being stupid.Still, for the price, the sound quality makes even this annoyance worth it.
