For the size these are amazing
You can only expect so much from a 4" speaker. But if you are replacing a stock speaker and this size fits, you are in for a treat. With the right seal, the bass is really impressive. It's important to seal the sound from the back of the speaker from reaching the top, because that is how you get the most bass from these little 4" woofers. It's actually quite decent and the small size means even OEM radios do a decent job of producing good sound. The midrange and tweeters are fairly crisp and I'm really impressed with the sound at this price. Just swap these with your stock speakers for an instant improvement. These come with wires but no speaker grilles. I replaced my stock 3.5 inch front speakers in my 2005 Scion xB and it was an immediate improvement. I can't speak highly enough of these little speakers. Pioneer has been making some great car audio speakers lately.

Fits inside plastic boom box enclosures also.
I bought these because I have owned a number of sets of these Pioneer multiway speakers. This time I was replacing some crap Sony speakers from a boom box on my bench at work. I was able to put them right into the plastic housings from the boom box enclosures and they fit right in and sound great other than that plastic sound. Soon I will be building some small enclosures for them but I have to watch it as my boss already thinks I have too much audio at work....LOL. I drive them using an old Pioneer 50watt home amp and I often catch people cranking it on Saturdays when I walk in. I have the best sounding system in the building and it cranks without distortions. If there is the situation in which you want clean audio in one small speaker, pick these for your projects! The highs are so much cleaner with these. To note, I had previously placed some Clarion's in the same enclosures but one of those had a resonant buzz at a certain frequency. But now that these are in there I really want to build some small MDF cabinets for them..I can build small cubes with ports and get really good sound without added tweeters and such because they are already there.

They are probably the best 4" speakers at reasonable cost on the market today.
Best 4" speaker on the market in my opinion.4" speakers are not going to do the irritating thumping bass you hear from cars playing rap music. But these deliver pleasant levels of instrumental bass tones and handle higher wattage well, clear midrange and upper range. They are well made. Downside, they don't come with covers. So if like me, I am mounting them in a top box on the back of my Aprilia Atlantic 500. So I had to buy after market covers to keep rain and such out. The speakers while not recommended for marine use, do have cone coatings that resist moisture and deteriation from moisture.

Are perfect for my little pick-up
I have an old 1987 toyota pickup and these fit perfect in the factory speaker cage under the dash. Sound good and don't break the bank. I am not an audiophile so I can't wax poetic on their sound. Good enough for me and Claptrap (my pickup).

Great speakers and sound!
Great sounding speakers. A lot louder and more clear sounding then my other ones. I put these in my tractors cab roof. They were difficult to install. I was surprised to see they didnt include face covers like other ones in this price range. I got them bc they were the only ones that were 3way. I would recommend. I only gave a 4 star for the value and install difficulty.

Very fine and 'natural' sound
Very nice neutral sound. Treble and bass can be adjusted (up/down) without any audible distortion. I've tried different configurations, but in the end I used flat position (bass/treble), which is worth mentioning for car audio of this size and price. Someone else though, could make treble/bass adjustments and be happy with them. Don't expect of having an all-in-one twitter, mid-range and woofer package, but they are indeed a very honest pair of speakers, with clean high frequencies (as possible), fine mid-range (as expected) and surprisingly good bass (according to its size).Decent metal construction and feel (large magnet too).Recommended!

Only average sound quality so not an upgrade over stock Toyota speakers.
No better sounding than the 30 year old Toyota speakers so not an upgrade. Not easy to install as they do not fit the Toyota mounting holes or the wiring plugs. 1 would not buy these again.

one went bad, no support
One of the speakers started intermittently distorting at all volumes after a month. I switched speaker location and the same speaker still has issues. The seller isn't authorized Pioneer reseller so no warranty. I wouldn't count on these lasting or getting new ones.
