SOUL by Ludacris SL100RB Ultra Dynamic On-Ear Headphones (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

This headphone is a great purchase. The only complaint i have on this headphone is that the gloss scratches easily, i have listend to beats by dr. Dre solo HD and I have got too say that they are about the same but this headphone is far more durable with an obviouse and thick metal band. These are very stylish and nice looking headphones, what i am not a fan of is that the outside is plastic and glossy, i dont know if you like gloss but i sure dont. These are not very comfortable aslo if you use these for 30 min to 1 hour your ears will be in pain. The sound quality is Alright the bass is good but the mids are dround out by the extremly high highs. The headphone comes with two tangle-free cables with a blank cable that just tranmits audio from A to B and one with a control talk cable' and a mic. It also comes with a soft case that protects it from scuff marks and scratches, and it comes with a basic cleaning cloth. I hope this reveiw helped :)

First off about the crushed earpiece during delivery let me say foam will expand back out after about 48hrs. So after you open the case pull out and unfold headphones and let sit for 48hrs and earpiece will puff back out also while you do this its a good time to let them break in. I let ALL my speakers break in on low for at LEAST 24hrs before using halfway and full blast. NEVER had a problem and I LOVE these headphones I have the SL49 and also SL150 for editing vocals and if that's your route then these aren't the best while it can be done get the SL149 or SL300. The bass isn't so much but it's there and noticeable and I just FEEL the music more in these headphones then some others I've tried. I have listened to beats I have friends that praise them but I think they are too bassy and exaggerate the bass too much for editing music. I use these as my everyday listening except at work when I use the SL49s and I also use them in the recording booth of my studio only because I've had other say the same thing, "they feel the music more." I would get these headphones especially if you consider beats unless you want the heavy bass which I like loud bass but trust me the beats aren't all they praise about and for under $100 can't beat these.

I bought these for my two boys ages 11 and 8. I gave the them to the 11 year old for his birthday a few days ago and he LOVES them. They are well made. Fit his head and ears well. He loves that the cord detaches and only plugs into one side (no 2 cords to deal with). On the cord you can adjust the volume. Great color. The noise reduction is above average. I could not be happier that he is happy. I'm saving the second pair for a Christmas gift for the 8 year old.In the attempt at full disclosure I did not pay full price ($170 at the time of ordering) I paid $30 each. I just got lucky that there was a limited time deal. That said, I would NEVER pay over a hundred bucks for earphones for kids, not for myself either. Are they worth $170? NO! But they are worth a lot more than what I paid. I'd say they are a solid mid-range product ($50-$99).The seller was a very fast shipper in fact they arrived a head of the estimated delivery. They sent emails updating the process along the way and they followed up post order to make sure we were happy. Top Notch!

I will rate the Soul by Ludacris by sound, comfort, and build qualitySound (2 stars)The sound is tolerable. That said, there is nothing that stands out in this headphone set. I can compare with Beats Solo and Skullcandy. Among the three this is the worst sounding. Not that its bad, but its the worst compared with these two. The bass is too loud that it crowds out the mids. And the sound is rough that it breaks out in the low bass and the highs. It doesn't happen in the Beats and the Skullcandy.Comfort (1 star)I first used this on a 12hour trans-Pacific flight. My ears hurt so bad after 2hrs of continued use! And I got popcorn ears afterwards. Also, the design is heavy at the top that it is severely unbalanced. It swings back and forth at the slightest head movement. I had to constantly readjust for a better fit.Build Quality (0 star)This model doesn't appear to have the sturdy metal frame that the red and blue models have. Mine was the orange and it broke after 2 months of very light home use. It cracked in the middle! Another issue was - In its first airline trip, it was in its carrying case and inside by computer bag. When I was about to use it, the left side was misaligned because of very light hand-carried travel bag pressures.More to this is the hollow plasticky sound when you tap any part of the headphones. Be it the ear-cuffs or the headband, it sounds cheap and light. It also doesn't have the premium snap when you plug in the jack to it.I will steer away from Soul Ludacris because of this. BUYER BEWARE!

Like everyone, was looking to buy a set of Beats solo, however at the price tag I was looking to by used ones. I can't justify buying $100 + headphones just to workout in, problem is I love good sounding music. Came accross the Soul by Luda and did my homework. I am glad I got them. They are awesome! The fit, style and sound is all right up my ally. They are the perfect balance of sound, I listen to ALL types of music and these are perfect, good lows, high's and mids. The sound is just so "clean" Not to mention the style! Its nice to have something that stands out, and yet not to much like a sore thumb. I love them so much, gonna get a second pair as a back up. At $55 + with shipping, why not! I can buy 2 if not 3 pairs brand new that are equal to if not all around better (balance of sound and style) than Beats for about the same dollar spent for 1 pair of Beats!
