Detachable Microphone Replacement mic Boom for Plantronics RIG 400HS 400Hx 400LX Xbox One PS4 Nintendo

I bought this microphone to use when playing with my friends online. I wanted to avoid buying new headphones just for the microphone, especially with how expensive decent "gaming" and office headsets are. In searching for a way to use the headphones I already own, this was the cheapest option I could find.It seems like it's meant to plug into headphones that already have a built-in microphone jack, but I easily fastened it to my headphones using two wire twist ties and a 3.5mm stereo extension cord. After fiddling with the microphone settings in Windows 10 (why they hid the "enhancements" tab so well I'll never understand), it sounds great! When I listen to it through my headphones there's no distortion and my friends say it sounds perfect with no static on their end. Before turning on "noise reduction" on my PC there was some moderate background static, but after enabling it there are no issues.If you need a headset for game chats, video calls, etc. and want to save money, this microphone plus an extension cord does the job as well as any headset granted you're okay with attaching it to your headphones yourself. Note that the sensitivity of the microphone isn't amplified so it needs to be within a few inches of your mouth to be heard.

Bought this as a replacement for my son’s EKSA E900 USB Gaming Headset-Xbox One Headset which he managed to misplace as the mic obviously detaches from the gaming headset. I handed him the Amazon package and did not see him again for hours. When he finally surfaced to raid the pantry, I asked him how it works and he said it was just like the one that originally came with the headset. He’s happy, I am happy. Price was good, shipped quickly, packaged ok. Note: there was one on a well-known “bidding site”site that was much cheaper but it was coming from China and I didn’t want to wait on that slow boat. Would recommend and given the price (under $10) would buy again but I promised my son this is a one and done purchase if he loses this one. Gotta put your foot down at some point.

I bought my husband this mic after our dog chewed up his last one. This was a great replacement that worked just as good as the original that came with the headset, no set up required just plug it in and go. And it’s cheap!I gave the sound 4 stars because when he was on chat, he said people could hear the background noise a little more than usual.

What I disliked the most was - NOTHING! I spent about $20 to get a Mike I could use to du state some work I had written. It worked great but it came with a very long cable. It works well but one is somewhat tethered. It works great. However for 1/3rd the cost I got a “plug-in” microphone that works just as well and I can stand and move freely. Yes, you’re right, I can’t move around or walk while I dictate but I can go further or not get caught up in the cord. Both microphones are fine but to simply plug this little mic and just start reading is incredible.

This works good as a replacement mic. It will fit almost any headset. I tried it on a rig 400hx and on the hyper x cloud alpha. The mic picked up sound great and you can be heard easily, but the downside is that it also picks up background noise a little more as well. The original mics on both headsets does a slightly better job at blocking out other sounds. Other than that, I have no complaints at all

I got this microphone because my older microphone on my headset did not sound very clear and it would often sound muffled. Upon using this new microphone on my headset, my friends told me my voice sounded very clear. It is easy to use, and most importantly has great sound

I suppose it does what it is supposed to do _IF_ you use the correct connector.My mistake was to try this on a laptop with 4pin (speaker + mic combo) connector.Don't make the same mistake --- with a 4pin connector, it would be a great accessory to a laptop, replacing the built-in, inferior mics

The sensitive for the mic is trash it barely picked up my voice at all
