Is it possible to remove and assemble this gate on a regular basis? We want to use it to block the kitchen.
i'm assuming if the doorway is 34 inches wide, this gate will not work as it will not snuggly fit. Only expands larger, not smaller....correct?

Does it open on the side or you have to go over it?

Great product. Does fit 60" Doorways!
My wife and I were going a bit crazy trying to find something to close off a 60" doorway in our new house to keep our puppy in the living room. The gated baby gates/pet gates are exorbitantly expensive for such wide doorways and we were very close to building our own baby gate with a tension rod and some PVC when I came across this product. What I love:- The tension rods feel really firm and sturdy and were the best tension rods in any of the pet gates/baby gates we purchased. We have two other gated pet gates (I believe one is a Regalo and I forget the other brand - both highly rated on Amazon), but the tension rods on these seemed the most superior.- I was a bit worried about how the fabric gate would look, but I have to say that it looks quite nice. It has a very nice, neutral color and the white area is actually a netted fabric that lets you see through the gate. This works really well with infants or pets because you can keep an eye on them even if you are on the other side of the gate- Price: This really is an amazing product for the price. I couldn't find anything that would fit a 60" doorway for even twice the price of this productThings that could be better:- Assembly: My only real gripe...as others have noted, getting the tension rods through the loop in the fabric can be extremely frustrating and time consuming. I don't quite understand why it wasn't designed to slip through...but as noted above, once this is set up correctly, the efforts are well worth the hassle of assembling this gate. All in all, I'm extremely happy with this product. Also, I should note again that this product DOES FIT 60" Doorways. I noticed that the "most helpful" review noted that it doesn't fit 60" doorways. It's a bit amusing that it was rated most helpful even though no one else really validated this. Fortunately I didn't see that review when I ordered this product and now I felt it my duty to report back about this gate actually working well with 60" doorways. If anything, it works best with a 60" doorway as the fabric is all stretched out as shown in the product picture and looks the best when the doorways is around 58-60" wide.

Excellent for a wide doorway!
We needed a wide gate for occasional grandchild visits, and this fits the situation! It’s easy to place in the morning and remove once the baby is down for the night. We sometimes rent homes for family get togethers, and this gate should travel well and adjust to fit different-sized doorways. Keep in mind that adults will need to step over since it is not hinged, and this might be an issue for shorter or older folks. Overall, we’re very satisfied with our purchase.

Perfect gate for wide doorways
The media could not be loaded.
We got this gate for a new puppy and I imagine he's a bit stronger than a baby so I was nervous about this gate fitting our needs. I work from home and needed a separate space in our apartment where I could get stuff done and also not have to worry about leaving cords around that the puppy could chew on. The study in our apartment has a large open doorway, and this was one of the only gates that was wide enough to fit in the large doorway. It's held up very well through the energetic puppy phase. By now, he's a little bigger and has been able to knock it down a couple of times on accident, but the noise scares him enough where he doesn't try to do it again. If you're getting this for an extremely small puppy, he might be able to slip between the bars on the sides or underneath the gate. The openings on the sides are 4 inches and the opening at the bottom is about 5 inches. I saw some reviews on here that people struggled putting this baby gate together, but I had some unfounded idea that I was going to be smarter than them and it would be much easier for me. Nope, not the case at all. The ends of the poles have rubber on them, and the inside padding of the slip for the baby gate is some sort of fluff that sticks to these rubber ends and does not let go causing the pole to get stuck the entire way through the openings. TIP: Put a thin rag or a t-shirt over the end of the pole and secure it with a hair tie or rubber band or something, then slide it through the opening and you'll save yourself a lot of time and energy. In terms of function, definitely 5 stars. As you can see by the video, my dog jumps on this thing and it still holds up. The difficulty of putting it together was insanely frustrating and unnecessary, and it seems like such a cheap fix to add another layer of fabric inside the slip that I'm giving this 4 stars.

Stands up to two 'sturdy' rough boys.
In our opinion, this is the best gate we have (out of 5 different gates). It is very affordable, user-friendly, sturdy, safe, and portable. (Gate has been through abuse and wear for 4 months or so.)We needed a gate to block the stairs from our boys. There is a window at the base of the stairs, so most of the gates wouldn't work. The ones that would were either out of our budget, or did not come with great reviews. We have this gate going across the hall before the stairs. The opening is 46 in., wall and pillar are not parallel. It is not difficult for our family (me, husband, 13 and 10 year old, grandparents, etc.) to step over the gate. The gate is also easy to remove and put back up.Assembly took maybe 5 minutes. All big people in the house can get gate up and down. How's it hold up? Wonderfully! We have 2 'sturdy' (read- future line backer) 16 month old twin boys. They run into gate at full speed- it stays up. They take turns throwing each other into gate- stays up. They hang on it- stays up. Needless to say, this gate has never fallen down (unlike a couple of our more expensive gates).Travel bag is also nice feature.

un producto muy util
muy util, hay pocas barreras para bebes que cubran huecos tan grandes, solo estaria perfecta si tuviera una manera de soltarse mas rapido, tienes que girar para ponerla y girar para quitarla lo cual es algo lento pero seguro.
