the screen resolution isn't bad, and 16 GB internal memory is twice what ...
I order this for my two-year old son, as I wanted something cheap-ish, but still with decent internal storage and screen. At this price point, the screen resolution isn't bad, and 16 GB internal memory is twice what most other tablets around the $100 price range have.Unfortunately the first unit that arrived did not function properly. Google Play services was broken from the start, and you can't make use of most Google services without this, especially the Play Store, which is where you find and install most of your apps.I tried every trick in the book to get it working, and there were quite a few, but ultimately I had to return it. The replacement unit that was sent functioned perfectly however. Screen res wasn't too bad, and for a $65 tablet, I really don't have any complaints. Certain streaming apps look a little pixely(Watch Disney Jr) but Youtube and Netflix look fine.My son loves it and seems pretty durable as it has already survived a couple drops from a three-foot high desk onto thin carpet and a couple drops from about 12-18 inches on a linoleum floor.Overall if you are looking a for a cheap, but still well performing tablet, can't really go wrong with this refurbished unit. I removed one star just for the hassle of having to return and wait for a replacement. You would think they would test each unit before shipping them out.

Decent hardware but beware of sketchy bloatware
These were originally mainly sold by Walmart (at least in the USA) and are one of the nicer low-end tablets. The display is much higher quality than most cheap tablets with the same 1280 resolution as many higher-end tablets (like the original Nexus 7). I think it's an IPS display as it has very wide viewing angles. It's also impressively thin and reasonably light with impressive build quality. The CPU is reasonably fast and the screen is responsive. The battery life is a bit below average but still decent. It seems to run any app you might want just fine. The bad news is it has a fair bit of sketchy bloatware that you can't disable or remove unless you're tech savvy enough to root it. The Android OS itself is close to pure Android so it's not like it has some awful skin (i.e. Samsung TouchWhiz, etc.) but some of the apps are at best annoying and potentially are spyware. Support from HiSense is nearly non-existent beyond some updates from nearly a year ago. If you don't care about bloatware, or are experienced at rooting Android devices, this is something of a bargain at the current prices.

Excellent starter tablet.
The first one I got worked flawlessly. The second one I ordered would not power on with the battery, even though it showed as charging, then fully charged. The moment I unplugged it, the unit powered off. Never turned on without being plugged in. Luck of the draw with refurbs, I know, but it lost one star due to my bad luck. Returned it for refund and found a new one for the same price as the refurb at another retailer. Oh, and the camera kind of sucks too. Everything else, I love. This is the perfect starter tablet for me.

Changed my review to 4 stars after getting replacement.
Originally gave it a one star review since the one sent to me was defective, but just got the replacement in a few days ago. Changed my review to a 4! The tablet is great, and 68 bucks is a great deal for a used version of this considering it's specs. You won't find an 8 inch tablet with 1200 x 800 for under 100 with 1gb of ram. Don't fall for the cheaper ones that may be an inch or two bigger and 60 bucks, cause they're pretty slow. This one is fine though.

I like it, its okay. Camera stinks but otherwise a good deal for the price
Good build quality, decent screen and battery life. The camera however is awful. The quality of the pictures remind me of the first generation flip phone cameras years ago, it doesn't even seem to be VGA quality. Otherwise I would have given it 4 stars. We have another Sero tablet and the USB charge port failed after a year and this one appears to be the exact same design to a bit worried about that. Otherwise, its a good product for the price. We bought this for our son so didn't want to break the bank on an iPad or Samsung tablet. It's a good buy if you're looking for an affordable tablet that runs well, has a decent screen and one of the newer versions of Android.

Nexus 7 2nd Gen in a Hisense:)
I was kinda worried this would be one of those cheap android tablet with a screen that looks like crap with bad viewing angles, but it wasn't bad. This is basically a Nexus 7(2nd Gen) it basically has the same hardware and specs but with a way lower price! I seriously would recommend this tablet to anybody, no matter what you want it for. This tablet is also capable of heavy gaming. I played Asphalt 8 ,Shadowgun,Dead Trigger 2 and Dead Space , all at maximum Detail resolution and it looked amazing with no lag or stopping at all. It's simply a really good tablet. I would seriously recommend to anybody looking for an 8 inch tablet. The screen also is really decent, it's the same led found in a Nexus 7 2nd Gen

Fantastic bargain tablet.
Upsides----great screen, and image. Works right out of the box. It runs a recent version of Android. The price for this much tablet is incredible. Its as good or better than tablets that cost twice as much.Downsides---Takes a LONG time to charge. Battery life is just okay. Most critically there are several aps that simply are not compatible with this tablet. QuizUp and the Huffington Post for instance do not work on this tablet.

One of the best budget tablet that puts more expensive tabs to shame!
Well, i don't know why there's a customer rating this tablet with one star, I believe it was a bad luck situation, but for me its a tablet that is totally worth the money!I have a five years old boy who recently discovered the joy of playing games and, everyday I got home from work, my phone usually goes straight to his hands because he wants to play games or watch youtube kidz on it. Not anymore! So, to solve the problem, I needed to find a good tablet but didn't want to spend much, specially because kids can easily break them. I started looking for a cheap tablet for him to use and that runs Android which is the main mobile system use. That way I can easily control the content he watches and the time spent on it.After long research on the web and many options seen, I chose this one, specially for the specs and the 8" screen size, which for me is ideal.Of course I was a bit worried to invest money on cheap devices like this as usually they tend to work well during the first weeks and turn unusable after some time using them.To make sure of my decision, I've compared the specs with kindle fire and many other more expensive devices and by analysing the amount of ram memory (this is very important for Android system), the storage offered and expandability of it, I thought this was the best option for the money and I wasn't wrong! After almost 3 months using it everyday, my son uses it for games, youtube videos and me, I use it for reading news on Apps like, News Republic, Cnet and many other applications.I am still surprised about what you get for the money and the quality of the tablet. The construction is very solid, the screen very bright and it works very good.Obviously the performance is not as good as on what you get on top devices but for what I needed it for, I am very happy with it.In general it a great budget tablet, It looks and performs very well! It come with Android 4.4 KitKat and I don't think they will offer OS update for it but I believe, this is definitely one of the best budget tablets you can find that puts more expensive tabs to shame!I hope this helps. Thanks,

Failed after 3 weeks
Not a good buy. It came as 'Manufacturer Refurbished' but only lasted 2 or 3 weeks before it failed.
