Have to tell you the truth....I never really put faith in any of these Command products. How could you trust putting heavy, valuable items on a hook that is not screwed into the wall, but rather supported by adhesive?I needed to create a hook to hang my bathrobe on my closet door. I really didn't want to resort to drilling and putting a screw in the door. I took the chance and ordered one of these Jumbo Command Hooks. It was really cheap and became an add-on item to the rest of my order.Installation was super easy. You basically prep the area you want to stick the hook to with rubbing alcohol. The instructions do advise you not to use any other household cleaning products to do that. Next, you remove the red adhesive on the back of the stickers and place them on the hook. Then remove the black stickers and place the hook on your desired location. Of course, there's a few seconds and minutes of pressing into place for all procedures that are involved. You also need to allow the hook to rest in place for about an hour before hanging anything on it.My bathrobe weights 5lbs. This hook is rated for 7.5 lbs. I am now going on day two of having this hook support my robe and it's doing an admirable job.What I really like about this hook is if I no longer need it, it easily removes without any adhesive residue -- at least, that is what the manufacturer is claiming.This product does come with an extra set of adhesives in case you make a mistake and need to start over.Count me in as someone who is very impressed with this product. It really does seem strong enough to support its advertised weight capacity. Additionally, I am just really happy I was able to put a hook on my closet door without having to drill.Highly recommended!

Love Command hooks. This one works very well, easy to install, easy to remove and to reuse you just get a new strip for the back.

These command hooks are super easy to use and hold up well. They have held my kids backpacks for the whole school year and are easy to remove if you choose to without removing the paint from the wall. Definitely helps with the clutter and works well to stay organized.

I have purchased several of these hooks for a walk-in pantry.It comes one hook in a box and, although the description is true to state that you receive 4 strips, you need 2 strips/ hook so you only really get one spare set.THE PLUSES:* DOES THE JOB: even installed on not completely smooth surfaces (hollow door with wooden pattern and knock-down finished/painted wall), these hooks glue strong. I have tested the hooks with up to 10lbs and they did not bulge.* Easy to install on clean and dry surface following the instructions, about 2-3 minutes/ hook.* Wide hooks allow to hang bulky coats, several chef jackets, etc...* Does come off the surfaces without leaving any residue, although it takes some strength and care to pull perfectly downward.THE MINUSES:* It is really utilitarian: pretty ugly to look at and comes in white plastic only. I would not use these hooks in plain view.* The hook is very wide so it's possible that some items hang strangely from it. It should not be an issue for most items but shape could be altered on delicate materials.I wish these jumbo hooks came in more attractive design/color but overall, I am very satisfied as they really do the job and hold at least the stated amount of weight. I would buy again and recommend.

I used these to hang up black out curtains in my apartment bedroom. We used one long curtain rod with two curtains to block two windows. I used three hooks, one on each end and one in the middle between the curtains and windows.We used this method:1. Wipe down your spot throughly with rubbing alcohol. Let dry.2. Keep the hook on the backplate and wipe the backplate with alcohol. Let dry.3. Attach the strip to the backplate4. Press the hook onto the wall as hard as you can for 60 seconds.5. Don't touch, look at, or breathe near the hook for a full 48 hours. This lets the command strip fully adhere to the wall.6. Gently place your curtain rod and curtains on the hooks.I wouldn't recommend these if you NEED to pull your curtains back and forth. There's very little clearance between the rod and the wall with these hooks. But they DO work. We just gently gather the curtains in the middle and tie them.

I placed this on the sidewall under my desk, sort of up and back where it is not obvious to people walking near my area. I don't have room in my desk for my purse, so I used to keep it near the side of my chair where it was always in the way of my feet and chair wheels. Plus it was where it could be tempting to others to take a peek inside if I was not right there... This has never happened, but it could, given the fact our clients are often unattended in the lobby area.Now it is out of sight but still accessable when I need it. It's not on the floor or hanging from a drawer or plopped on the desk or countertop.... It's not in the way of my chair either. I like it having it's own spot.My purses are average size, with a big strap or double straps, usually loaded with all sorts of heavy/bulky stuff... this hook has held up nicely for awhile now even though I am fairly sure I have surpassed the weight limit a couple of times. I expect it to keep holding for some time.... Bonus is no damage to the office furniture.UPDATE June, 2013... I have hung my big purse on this hook 5-6 days a week for the past year and it is still holding tight with no sign of coming loose. I know my bag weighs close to the limit of this hook so I sort of expected it to prematurely fall off, but it's all good! I am well pleased.
