Plays well above price point.
This year I purchased two pairs of Klipsch speakers. I bought a pair of RP-160M Ebony, and a pair of RP-600M Piano Black speakers. In a side by side A/B comparison, they both have their unique sound, but I honestly can't say that I prefer one over the other. I kept the RP-600M pair for myself because I was blown away by their appearance, and gave the RP-160M pair to my youngest son, who preferred their appearance. We started our evaluation with Paul Simon's Kodachrome. Every song we threw at them sounded amazing. We listened to Seether's Rise Above This, Bob Segar's The Fire Inside. Rusted Root's Send Me On My Way, Anthony Oliver's Rich Man Nort of Richmond, Elton John's Funeral for a Friend, Cars Don't Cha Stop, B-52's Planet Claire, Tommy Tutone's 8675309 (Jenny), Melloncamp's Rain on the Scarecrow, Frampton's Do You Feel, Donna The Buffalo's Tides of Time, Snowy White's Head Ful of Blues, Wintergatan's Paradis, Beetles Blackbird, George Harrison's Got my mind Set on You, The Hollies The Air That I Breath, Tommy James Mony Mony, The Who Won't get fooled again, REM Radio Song, U3 With Or Without You, The Verve Sonnet, The Rolling Stones Angie and many more. There were 4 of us picking songs from my vinyl and CD collections. Time slipped by and 4 hours later, we all decided that both pairs were rock monsters.Since the RP-600m's became my bedroom speakers, my wife and I have discovered that we both fall asleep much faster and sleep better if we listen to ocean waves or 432 Hz Binaural beats playing softly. My son took his RP-160M speakers home and set them up in his basement gym/workshop.Klipsch has done an amazing job with their Reference Premiere line. They play way above their price point. While these may not be the best choice for music purists, for most people, they will put the fun back into listening to their music. While they were made for rock and roll, they do country, classical, contemporary Christian, Jess, Blues and even (yuk) Disco very well. Adding my Sub, I used them to watch Midway, and it sounded and felt like the "Sense Around" that they featured in theaters with that movie back in 1976. By themselves they were great, but I think the RP-600M speakers, paired with a full 5.1 or 7.1 channel Klipsch home theater system would be a mind blowing experience. If you're on a budget, in my humble, buy American opinion, the RP 6-¼ inch line-up from Klipsch will give the best bang for the buck. And for large rooms I give the 4th generation of the Klipsch Heresy speakers a big two thumbs up.

Superb sound for small room at $329
Full disclosure, I am a Klipsch fan. I've owned their speakers for over 20 years. If you enjoy the Klipsch sound, these are an excellent value option ($329 on closeout) for the brand. These are the older series. The newer series II are supposed to avoid the drop off in frequency response b/w the woofer and tweeter. Personally, I like the bright sound and efficient nature of these speakers as is. They sound very bright and have sufficient bass for the basement and the bedroom that I have them installed in. I listen on low volume with a REL T3 subwoofer I've had for years but the sub isn't strictly necessary. I just always roll with a sub for those times I want to feel those lower frequencies. At low volume levels I absolutely love this combination. I would describe the sound as bright with great soundstage (this is what I appreciate the most for my stereo sources). Subtle details jump out at you especially when mixed across the sound stage. It doesn't take much power to run these speakers as they are high efficiency so you can get away with a fosi mini amp (in my basement) or a compact system like the Denon CEOL all in one receiver I use in the bedroom. Neither have more than 60W. Powers up the 600's much louder than I ever need. Sub is powered, so no draw from the source there.

I sold all I had to buy these speakers, and I would do it again.
Well, I have not actually sold all my speakers yet. These speakers are fantastic. they have a sound like I have never heard before. It almost like 3d audio. 6 months ago I purchased a pair of Klipsch r 41m. I liked them right away then after 50 hours of listening they really opened up . These rp 600m's are going to be the same way the more I listen to them the better they are going to sound. I used a pair of jumpers to try and bi wire but I did not like the way it sounded. It sounded like dual mono. The sound stage completely disappeared. These speakers have such a smooth sound and are so easy to listen to. I am using them with a tube amplifier next I will hook them up to a solid state amp. I was watching these speakers for a couple months watching all the sound demos on you tube. When amazon dropped the price by 200.00 that all it took. I tried BI Amping them today. The instruments were more defined and accurate especially the bass but the stereo effect completely disappeared. I prefer them stock. you will defiantly need a sub woofer with these speakers. by themselves the bass sounds tubby. tried the bi amping again with a separate amp. liked it better. update 4/11/22 Bought Bi-wire speaker cables from amazon really improved the sound. But there was still a weakness in the midrange. So what to do? i was considering the upgrade kit from G&R audio. But I tried the Bellari graphic equalizer first. Works perfect. Was able to strengthen the mid range and mid bass. Now these speakers sound full and dynamic.
