Shure BLX288/PG58 Wireless Vocal Combo with PG58 Handheld Microphones, J10

I have used many Shure wired microphones and really like quality of Shure microphones. However, when it comes to wireless I was reluctant since there are quite a few good brand names in the market and this set is a little expensive too. After doing quite a bit of research and reading reviews, I decided to stay with Shure and bought this set. It was my very good decision.I am using it for my karaoke system at home. The range is no issue at all since my living room is not so large. The sound is clear and true. The feedback occurs sometimes but it is likely caused by my mixer rather than this set. Also, the body of microphone tube is made of plastic so it is light weight and comfortable. Great product! - I am happy about with this set.

This set is a good quality product. There are some limitions to be aware of though. The plastic body of handle does create sound picked up by the mic when bumped or otherwise handled roughly. This just means that you need to be aware and handle with care while the mic is on. The signal strength is not quite as strong as I would expect, but is fine for a medium to large sized room (our room seats about 150) with no obstructions. We mainly use these mics for spoken word (works great), but we occasionally use them for singers (they are adequate for most).Overall, this is a very good value.

We have been using this system for the past year with no issues at all, and another for longer than that. We have two BLX88 receivers in two buildings that are about 200' apart, and normally tuned to the same channels so that we can swap mics on short notice (we don't normally use both systems at the same time). The receivers are located high (10 - 15' off ground level) and the mics actually work through walls across that distance!We have a cell tower on the property, which sometimes caused problems with our earlier wireless systems. Not any longer.Battery life is excellent.

In our church, we had some cheaper mics that we used for our congregation to make announcements and prayer requests. Most of the time, the speaker did not know how close to their mouth they needed to hold the mic, which was very close. Needless to say that a lot of the time the rest of the congregation did not hear what that person said. We spent the extra money and got this set of Shure mics and out of the box they worked perfectly. The set up was easy as explained in the instructions. The speaker can hold the within 12 inches of their mouth and their voice comes out nice and clear.

Good quality, good grip and good sound. Just wish this product would show the battery life on the handheld. Other than that, these work great for our church.
