Red Baseball Bump Cap - Lightweight Safety hard hat head protection Cap

I will be using this for windsurfing. Rather than using a bulky helmet, I considered this will look good and provide sufficient support in case of mast or other heavy object hitting my head. I like the adjustment strap so that it will not fly away during speedy windsurfing. I guess this could be used for other similar sports like sailing, kite surfing, skate boarding etc although the protection effectiveness is likely less than the one obtained from heavy duty bulky helmets. But I figure this is good enough for me.

The hat is mostly comfortable, with the padded strip running down the middle, front to back. When I am servicing equipment near cabinets and desks with sharp lower edges, it is just what I need. It is comfortable with the bill backwards. I have scraped my head before and this cap works great to protect my head from cuts and scrapes. My rating is 4 instead of 5 stars because I work in an air conditioned work place, and cannot comment on if it is OK to wear in a hot environment. The plastic shell may cause sweat retention.

I keep this at my attic access along with "ThorFire LED Cap Light Headlamp" attached to brim. Im an old guy and bumping my head on those attic beams was killing me! Not as comfortable as worn in, everyday, ball cap but perfect for what it is.

As another reviewer already mentioned i took the pad on the top of the plastic off, it did look like a feminine product. But other than that I love this hat. I bumped my head so many times in a week i couldn't give myself a buzz cut, to many scrapes and bumps. Got this and now no more issue. Love it. I do feel it towards the end of the day, I have an odd shape head, just kind of rubs/rides weird in one spot. Worth it though for not mashing my noggin though.

I was looking for some head protection for when I am attics and crawl spaces. Did not really want to wear a hard hat as they stand off your head too much. This is a perfect compromise. You don't have all the protection of a hard hat, but if you bump your head into something, there is some protection. I walked right into a floor joist as I was leaving a crawl space. If I would not have had this on it probably would have knocked me out. I survived without as much as a mark on the head.

This cap has already saved my noggin several times. I put a piece of velcro on the front the same size as the military tactical patches and put them on it.I didn't like the foam on the top of the plastic; It looked like a feminine napkin on top of my hat, so I took the plastic shell out and removed that piece of foam. Now it looks just like an ordinary ball cap. No one knows it's a bump cap unless I tell them.

My husband bumped his head at work before getting this cap for Christmas. That bump caused a hospital visit and some "super" glue to keep the skin together (instead of stitches). This cap has already prevented so many other scrapes, scratches, and possible visits to the hospital again.The outer cap shrinks when washing, so if you wash it put it back on the bumper while it is still wet and let it dry like that.

I bought this as a bump helmet for when I’m doing lighting and sound stuff and need to protect my head from hard stuff in the ceiling. I got it because a hard hat is more cumbersome. It’s not to replace the hard hat but to give me a bit more protection than my ball cap that I usually wear.
