Decent choice for ipad case
Now, I am the guy who does not care about case price. I am willing to pay more if the case deserve more.but I am very PICKY when I choose case. Note I will not say this is the perfect case ever. It has some drawbacks. but they are minor enough I can recommend this case.Pros- Significantly cheaper than case from Apple themselvesApple's leather case is nice, but always overpriced. If you are considering alternative case, this is one of the best one out there.- It firmly holds case. This case hold ipad very fimly. Your ipad mini 2(or 3) would not come out from case easily, unless you intentionally take it out. It's mainly because it is holding edge and it is solid. Even when you compared to Apple smart case with original condition, Khomo case hold your ipad way more stronger than Apple smart case doesNote Apple smart case has some kinds of weird inside material that works as backbone, and it is easly breakable when there is no ipad inside of case. Though if you put ipad inside of case, your ipad works as another backbone of smartcase and it won't easily break(LOL, ipad is protecting case, instead of case is protecting ipad!). However, once you break that backbone part of smartcase, which has durability of cardboard paper level, Apple smart case became one of worst cases ever. Your ipad keeps slipping out from inside of case.- It holds most of edge, too. Many of 3rd part ipad air or ipad mini cover will not cover the whole edge of ipad. It is fairly important issue, because you can easily make some tiny dents on diamond cut edge. Diamond cut edge is one of the weakest portions in terms of dent. Though one of edges, where the cover located, is not covered by case. And I have one tiny dent on my ipad mini because of that. Still, it is better than most other cases in the market. Apple smartcase is only case-I see-that covers all edges properly.- It does have big enough cut hole for 3.5mm, and it does not have any cover on button. When I put headphone with a bit large 3.5mm connector, it does not go into holes of many cases. This case does not have. How about Apple smart case? Their old smartcase for ipad 4th gen or below allow me to put connector in, but not any more with thinner ipad with thinner case without extra space for larger hole. Though smart case is soft case, so I can cram in connector.Another good thing about using 3rd party case is button. Apple's smartcase covers the buttons of ipad, and it kills clicky feeling of ipad, which is really nice feeling for feedback. I personally prefer to see holes for button, so that I do not have to deal that weird feeling.Cons- Just like all the other 3rd party case, its cover does not hold triangle shape for its own. When you fold your cover into triangle shape, every 3rd party ipad mini case will not hold triangle shape. Only Apple's genuine case or cover will do this. Still, your 3rd party stand will do the job when you use your cover as a stand, but it does not feel as firm.(This is reason I love to see old-fashion 4-type fold stand. It gives wayyy more stability)- It adds decent thickness and a bit of weight. Now, I am not talking my ipad mini retina became huge after using this case, but I can clearly feels it adds more thickness than Apple's case, and it is significant enough to mention since original ipad mini retina's thickness is so small. You do not feel than thin ipad mini after adding this. Same for weight, too.- Its cover portion is too stiff at first, and after long tern usage it became flippery. When you first use this case, you feels this case-cover is stiff as hell. It really tends to go back to original flat shape. After using for months, it became fairly flippery. Though Apple's smart case is slippery too. Also note the stiffness of cover part is different if you buy carbon fiber version of case.Overall, it is nice case. Probably one of the best cases on the market, unless you want something leather or case with keyboard, etc. Though it is not perfect case, there is no perfect case. I prefer this over smart case because of soild material with firm hold. It feels safer. I can definitely recommend this case with this price unless if you want the perfection.Side note : My personal biggest complain about this is that no manufacturer produces old style 4-way folding cover; I tend to love it because I often use triangle fold part as a handle of my ipad.

From a Self-Confessed Tough Case Critic….A “Goldilocks” Solution
An accessory is something that complements or enhances the original product. It should be like a good relationship - it enhances what is already there, and makes it more of what it already is.So - any review of a case for Apple’s iPad mini has to start with an understanding & appreciation of the nature of the mini itself. The mini (obviously) has never been for “Size Queens (or Kings).” While using any iPad has always been a Visual experience (going back to the very first one from April 3, 2010); using an iPad mini has always been more of a Kinesthetic experience (going back to its very first generation in November 2, 2012). It’s always been “The One-Handed-iPad.”Don’t believe me ? Check out the original reviews from 2012:[...]Jason Snell of Macworld sums it up eloquently in a paragraph here:[...]The mini has always been more about Touch, Feel & Weight as it has been about sight. All of that has always made the discussion about the smaller screen size a non-starter. So an accessory should enhance that user experience.Does the KHOMO iPad Mini 4 Case pass that test?…Kind Of…(lol)The iPad mini 4 is THE lightest iPad ever made by Apple, weighing in at 10.72 oz. Even Apple’s own Smart Cover (front only) adds 2.48 oz = 13.2 oz. to that Kinesthetic experience (but it flips back and gets out of the way - mostly). Apple’s “house brand solution” of the Silicone Case+Smart Cover fits perfectly, but just makes the whole thing TOO heavy, and destroys the products very raison d'être. KHOMO’s closest competitor, the MoKo case adds 2.3 ounces on top of Apple’s Smart Cover alone. The KHOMO comes in somewhere in the middle…adding a mere 2.1 ounces (not bad) on top of Apple’s Smart Cover alone, and believe it or not, you can feel the difference between the two in your hand while using the device. The KHOMO case is a tremendous value for the price point. It shipped inside a padded mailing envelope - adequate protection for what the product is. The manufacturer packaging is more substantial than the competing MoKo, which ships only in a clear sealed bag. The nicely designed cardboard sleeve validates the “Premium Quality” branded on it, along with the expected desiccant & foam filler.* The Red/Black model I received didn’t have the advertised “Sound Boost” feature, but traditional cut-outs for each of the stereo speakers* The cut-outs in the case are accurate & functional, if not surgically precise, like Apple’s* There is a "standard gray" interior micro-fiber, as opposed to Apple's color-matched micro-fiber* The shell (back) is a rigid un-padded plastic that “snaps” firmly around all sides of the mini* The shell does pickup fingerprints, but then, that’s something we’ve all gotten used to since 2010* The auto-sleep/wake function works well* The multi-fold case proved stable in both positions when the cover is rolled back* The case is well-engineered and the cover aligns perfectly with the edges when closed(…which, unfortunately we can’t say about Apple’s own Smart Cover when used without its intended mate: the Silicone Case)* Unlike other reviewers, I experienced no “strange smell,” and was able to use the case immediately without letting it “air out”* It comes in 16 color combinations ! For a product intended to be “serious” protection, they made it as FUN, playful & non-intrusive as possible. For someone who’s a tough case critic, who’s returned a couple of cases in less than a year - the fit, weight, and color of the KHOMO enhances my iPad mini experience, but in a way that makes me “Think Different.” It adds as much as it takes away. It’s a great value for a very reasonable investment. I can see why professional reviewers rate it so highly.[...][...]..and If you still value lightness in user experience, but protection while carrying - I still say consider a "combo solution," like an Apple Smart Cover slipped inside an inCase City Sleeve for travel.

A great open and shut case...
Snug fit with all the openings in precisely the right place.Lid/cover works perfectly for 'wake/sleep' function. Folds fully flat on back if you don't need to use it as a stand. The back is not quite as non-slip as I was hoping but it is far less slippery than the ipad mini itself. The front is quite a good non-slip so I'm getting into the habit of putting it face down on the arm of our leather settee and chairs where it stays-put.Nice stylish carbon fiber/fibre design that looks good quality on my new iPad Mini 5.

Finally found the best case!
I've been really picky about the spec I wanted for my iPad mini (Gen1) and finally (after having tried so many others) found the ideal case. It has a full but very thin back case with full edges (with cutouts for all the buttons, jacks etc.) and the front cover is a Smart one (uses auto sleep/wake) function. The front cover, which is really thin but strong, is made up of three sections that fold and roll. This provides a great handle, just the right size for my hands, or a very sturdy stand for watching landscape orientation. The inside of the front cover is like a cross between pseudo suede and soft felt, to protect the screen. The feel of the outer is very smooth but soft not really like rubber, but still easy to keep clean and although I initially wanted leather, this is much nicer to handle. Just slipped my iPad mini in snugly and auto wake/sleep function worked immediately. Effortless, sleek, sturdy and high quality all for about £10.

Look no further, this is the best case around.
This is a sturdy case which I think will protect my iPad for a long time. It's made of good quality materials and fits perfectly. I like that the front cover is attached to the back cover, as previous cases I've had have either clipped in or flipped off due to weak magnets attaching the front flap.Edit: This case is still going strong, months later. It’s so good that four other family members have asked me to purchase one for them, which are all still going strong too. Will never buy another iPad case brand again!Further edit: 17 months later...it’s still in as good condition as it was when it arrived, even with daily use and use while travelling quite often. The best case I’ve ever had.

No need to pay crazy Apple prices - buy this.
Excellent value for money. No complaints over this case. Sleep function and stand work fine. No indication that it won't last. Thought it might feel a bit too slippy with the smooth finish but my daughter says it's fine.3.3.15 Bought another of these for An Air 2 and dropped it today. Landed on the inside edge which is protected by the material leading to the front flap. The edge came through the material and put a few dents in the metal. Fortunately the glass was intact. Some protection was therefore provided. I dare say the way the iPad fell was unlucky however the lack of solid protection on the inside edge is clearly a weakness and this is something the Apple case doesn't suffer from, being completely enclosed. Is this enough to make me pay £65 for an Apple case next time - possibly not as this is still a quite ridiculous price, but it did make me think about things to look for in a case. Though I will be a little more careful in not trying to carry too much thinking my iPad is fully protected.

Good quality, cut outs precisely placed and good fit generally
We bought this for an older iPad mini with retina display (iPad mini 2). The fit and cutouts were perfect and unlike some of the other reviews highlighted the magnetic closer seemed to hold firm even when the iPad was held screen down and shaken a little. The open/ close wakeup/ standby works fine as well. The build quality on this is very good. Is it as good as the original Apple branded version...probably not but the difference in price makes any compromises on the quality front (which are virtually non existent from what I can see so far) worth making. The only slight downside (and reason for 1 star deduction) is that if you use charging stands (like the Belkin express dock) you will need to take the device out of the cover.
