The CM-SB is the undisputed top of the line for a siphon fed illustrator’s airbrush, like its gravity fed counterpart, the CM-B, it makes use of Iwata’s Micron Matched Component Head System for extreme fine line detail. Please see my review of the CM-B for more info on the Iwata Custom Micron System as it is applicable to the CM-SB as well.The CM-SB is a very good choice for fine detail if quick color change is required during your work. The downside is, as a siphon fed airbrush, it requires a little higher air pressures to work well than the CM-B or CM-C does. Like the HP-SB, the CM-SB brush is ambidextrous and the color cups can be attached on either let or right hand sides, making it comfortable for use by southpaws. The airbrush comes with a single 1/16 oz brass color cup, but can make use of the 1/8 oz color cups for the HP-SB as well. The color cups are self standing and the bases can be unscrewed and removed for cleaning.As I said in my CM-B review, the CM-SB is an illustrator’s airbrush and the 0.18 mm fluid nozzle must be used with thinned, water based media to allow for maximum performance. It also demands professional handling and care for best results, though not nearly as bad as the old Paasche AB brushes. But it’s top of the line and will not let a pro down.
