Floodlight with bonus camera
Got this to replace a floodlight with motion detection that quit working covering our back driveway. Got a great deal and for the price this was great. It was easy to set up. It does take some adjusting the motion detection to suit your needs. When it comes up for sale again I want to get one to cover the backyard. The video quality is very good. I would definitely recommend.

Online Offline Online Offline Online Offline
The newly updated app, which is mandatory to upgrade to, makes the camera and spotlight totally unusable. It’s randomly goes offline. Randomly comes back online. Alerts to your phone of intruders, doesn’t work anymore. Recording, is made is unreliable. Half of the files recorded by camera won’t open. Live view doesn’t work. Playback when working, plays back at 2x or 3x normal speed. The original app was quirky, but it worked well enough to be useful. This new app makes the floodlight camera as useful as a brick. I uploaded the histories up the camera coming online, going offline. Ridiculous product.

Comparison with Ring Floodlight Cam
I got this because I was tired of waiting for Ring to integrate with Google Home Hub and the Swann was on sale for $100.Pros vs Ring- 2 days of free cloud clips for free vs paid subscription- 7 days of on-device recording vs (paid) cloud only- Integration with Google Home Hub/Assistant and Alexa vs Alexa only- Lower sticker price at time of writing (even when not on sale)- Different configurable modes (home, away, night) vs Ring's very limited snooze optionsCons vs Ring- No option as of writing to snooze alerts but still record clips- No option as of writing to change sensitivity of light to motion and it only seems to turn on when at close range- No option as of writing to create custom motion zones for camera or light- No integrations as of writing with non-Google/Amazon hubs (eg, SmartThings, Wink)- No SAFE By Swann doorbell camera as of writing so would need a separate app for thatA push- Delay before clips are visible in activity log for both systems - maybe a local bandwidth issue- No thumbnail pictures in Android alerts (can't speak to iOS)- No geo-fencing capabilities to set modes and/or snooze alerts based on schedule- No integration with IFTTT as of writing- No neighborhood watch/law enforcement sharing piece for Swann so this could be a pro or con depending on your perspective- Color temp of Swann floodlight is daylight vs warm for Ring so depends on your perspectiveIn conclusion, a good value option for Google Home/Nest Hub users with some trade-offs that may or may not get mitigated by subsequent software updates

Good but not the best
So I bought this but ended up returning it after only 1 day. We installed it where an existing flood light was (above the garage door). It was very easy to install and setup as far as the app and the wifi detection. However, the app didn't give immediate alerts. In fact it didn't work right away, it delayed a little. I ended up going on the Swann website to see if there were any steps I could take to make the app work and I found out (on a q&a thread) that the app wasn't working properly on iOS/iPhone apps. After a little while it did in fact work but slow. We started testing the mic and the siren on it and the volume was very low on both. If someone were lurking around the area it would probably sense it, but whoever was out there wouldn't be able to easily hear my voice through the speaker, nor would the speaker sound "alarming" enough. I purchased this because I saw that it worked just as well as the Ring brand light but for about $70 less. Since I had already seen and heard how the Ring brand light had a much louder siren and a better mic volume, I just went with them instead. I also have some wired cameras installed which are Swann brand, but their app on my phone also sucks. Just FYI.

Edited review- consistent now that the bugs were fixed - have had this several years
I’ve now had this floodlight for over 2 years- at first it was great- then had a major update and it was so unreliable I pretty much gave up and used it as a light- but then.. the thing updated again and it’s been super reliable for about the last year. The picture is good- on par with arlo and ring. Overall now for the price and ease of use I would recommend
