Vestal collections are watches, eyewear, and accessories that fine-tune style and expression for the musically inspired individual. Established in 1997, Vestal is marketed and branded through musicians, artists, athletes, and friends who are immersed within music culture. Vestal can be found in specialty stores and finer boutiques around the world. The Guide is a premium, multi-sensor digital movement surrounded by a 48mm 316L surgical-grade stainless steel case and an ultra, scratch-resistant K1 crystal. The movement features an instant Altitude read out along with an elevation-gain graph. The Barometer is ready to alert you if your summit attempt is a poor decision with the storm warning indicator. The digital compass, when paired with the bi-directional rotating bezel, will hold your bearing for quick reference. The custom strap is 22mm wide polyurethane featuring the patent-pending, modified OKTOLOCK system and a 316L surgical-grade, stainless steel buckle. All case, strap and buckle connection points utilize screw-down, stainless steel parts for added durability. Finally the 10 ATM water resistance means the Guide can withstand the elemental forces that can occur during river crossings or high-alpine thunderstorms while also providing a temperature reading both in and out of the water.

nice watch, worth a look for sure
I was looking for a more "grown up" digital watch than my old reliable, 10 year old, beat to hell, casio G shock.I wear a watch daily, in the water, on the trail, at work, fishing, hunting, freediving, shooting - where ever. The only time I take my watch off is when I go to bed (to make my wife happy) or when I'm doing high voltage switching at work.I wanted a digital watch, black, made of metal, that could be compatible with a NATO strap, and had to be capable of taking some punishment. This watch certainly looked the part.Once I got may hands on it- I was not disapointed.this is a big chunk of metal. heavy and thick, you could likely knock someone out with it...if pressed into service as a improvised weapon. The crystal sits well below the bezzel, and is protected from all but a direct impact... I like this.Noodle arm wusses need not consider this watch... it'll be too heavy and manly for you to handle on your milquetoastesque wrist. So yeah, the bezzel rotation is a little clunky, but hey, its a 300.00 watch, not a 3,000 rolex. The buttons work fine for me, you push them... and the mode changes! pretty sure thats the way its supposed to work.the buttons are (almost) flush mounted - having had a few watches where my buttons were torn off by impact, and pressed by objects at inconvienent times, I find a button that requires a "man's touch" to activate a plus, not a minus. give them a nice firm push with your finger and hey, whadaya know... the function changes. the buttons are pretty large, and are checkered a bit to grip the calluses on your man fingers for a slip free push -nice.personally, I prefer a back light that requires a specific button push (the one marked "light" and hey... thats all it does!) and then shuts itself off after a moment... saves batteries.this watch does that, you push a button to turn on the backlight, note the time, and it shuts off... simple, perfect, just what a watch is supposed to do. I suppose if you were a vampire or lived in perpetual darkness you might want to slave the light function to your other function buttons... but I'm a diurnal critter... like most humans, and I don't want to be replacing my watch batteries every two months.Yes, zeroing your compass, altimeter, and barometer is not intuitive... and the manual is "meh" but I managed... and so will you.the stock band is soft, yet seemed strong - plenty of notches for guys with thick wrists, most guys will probably be fine with the stock strap. However, I took the stock band off in favor of something else -I have mine rigged up on an olive drab Da Luca NATO strap. Very comfortable, can be worn over clothing and wetsuitsand you won't loose the watch if one of the retaining bars breaks... unlike a standard two piece strap. Some say a NATO strap makes a watch look cheap, I think it looks all buisness...especially on the Guide.

Lost my first vestal chrono watch. Amazing Replacement!
Let me start off by stating that i received my first vestal watch as a graduation gift. It was a "vestal chrono surveyor" watch that was completely black with a metal band. That watch was more for style since the time was only visible in sunlight or in a lit room because instead of numbers it had black dashes to represent the hours. It was a good watch but the band started to get scratched and when I first got it the band was way to long for my wrist. I went to Target to get it resized. Fortunately, the resizing was free. I had that watch for 4 years and recently lost it. I felt terrible for losing it since it was graduation gift, but I knew I had to replace it somehow. Over the past 4 years I came to love the vestal brand and nearing christmas they had alot of amazing deals here on amazon on watches so I decided to buy myself a new watch. When I came across this I instantly fell in love with it, so i ordered it with the free one day delivery which made it even better when I bought it because I couldn't wait to put it on my wrist.NOW that I have it around my wrist I always wear it every time i go out. This watch is perfect. The band is durable and light, since it isn't made out of metal I don't have to worry about it getting scratched. I didn't have to go resize the band like my first watch. It has awesome features: altimeter, barometer, backlight, compass (it being digital it has a digital compass with a small sensor at the top of the case and whichever way u point it shows the direction u are going digitally), date-time, world times, stop watch, water resistant (but not really going to test it myself hahaha), timer and alarm.HONESTLY this watch is for campers, survivalists, or anybody like survivor man or Bear Grylls who love camping or going out into the wild since in an urban area all the features in this watch are in your smart phone. HOWEVER this watch just feels so good to have on. It might take a while to set up but all you have to do is look at the manual. THE STEPS AREN'T THAT HARD TO LEARN.The only small CON that i have about the watch is that backlight is only set to be on for a few seconds and i kind of wanted it to be on for longer but it is only necessary for those few seconds to check the time or compass really. I love this watch and i highly recommend it if you're thinking about buying it. It also comes with a survival whistle and guitar pick 😊

Looks great, poor functionality
When I first saw this watch I loved the design and to find out it was a compass/alt/bar watch, was a great plus, as this was just what I was looking for. I still love the design, but it's merely a watch, the functionality on my watch is crap at best. Maybe I got a lemon, not sure but neither altimeter, barometer or compass work properly. I've tried to recalibrate on several occassion with no success. Perfect example, when in Denver it was registering 582ft...Denver's altitude is 5,000+ feet. When in Seattle the barometer was measuring high pressure, when in fact it was sprinkling outside and overcast. In a nutshell, the watch looks great, but doesn't function as a multi-purpose tell-all as I was expecting. That said, the price should be half of what they charge, at best.

Vestal GDEDP01 Altimeter Barometer Compass Silver Black Watch
Thank you for giving me this opportunity to voice my opinion of the Vestal GDEDP01 Altimeter Barometer Compass Silver Black Watch.First the plastic box in which it came packed. There is a very narrow slit in the foam rubber that contains a black envelope with a VESTAL sticker and a plastic Warranty card and what appears to be a mandolin or guitar pick - ??? Next a shorter slit about 1/2" wide with nothing in it.Nex a customized cut out that holds the watch on a 3/4" plastic band attached to rather heavy and expensive looking display stand. Why would I need a display stand?Had the money saved by excluding these useless objects been spent to produce a better more detailed instruction manual it might have saved users a lot of problems.Which leads us to ..... "THE GUIDE". One of the worst instruction manuals I have ever seen. It has only one very poor diagram of the watch with very light, hard to see details. This watch needs more diagrams to complement and clarify the written instructions. It has a chart that requires a powerful magnifier to read. Now the watch. I feel it uses old technology that has been poorly executed. 1. The glass or crystal, no matter where it is used, indoors or out it catches reflections that obscure the watch face.2. The face itself under many lighting conditions is difficult to read even without the glass reflections. The compass bezel is too loose and will turn when merely brushed against an article of clothing. The characters Immediately below "VESTAL" at the top of the face are often broken and unreadable. 3. Setting the watch is too complicated. Standing in an open field at -4C away from all structures as instructed, to set the compass which still does not give a useful reading, was most unpleasant. 4. The band. It does not have a fine enough size adjustment. For my wrist the closest adjustments are either too tight or too loose. The loose setting allows the watch to bang heavily on a tabletop and it must be twisted back to position to be read.An item for which I had great expectations and paid over $300.00 will wind up unused in an obscure corner of a junk drawer. One compliment. The buttons for making the necessary settings are cleverly set almost flush with the surface of the watch and the gridding on them can be easily felt even by one such as me with diabetic neuropathy. Now I have two questions. 1. Why is it not possible to print a copy of your invoice that shows the amounts charged instead of a grey bar? 2. Why did I receive a 'PAID' invoice from CasanovasAdventures in the amount of $114.99. Close to 1/3 of what I actually paid?Once again I thank you for encouraging constructive criticism.I do hope you will respond to my letter personally - no standard form letter, please.Sincerely,Mickey Oberman
