AOC E1649FWU 16-Inch 1366 x 768 16 ms LED LCD Monitor

I wanted an additional monitor for business travel. I needed it to work on multiple MS Office documents at once as well as email. It had to be compact and lightweight because I don't check a bag when I travel. This monitor fits the bill perfectly. It will definitely make my life on the road easier and allow me to get work done faster.My business Lenovo X230 doesn't have a DVD drive, so I just went to the AOC site, found the product and downloaded the driver. After a minute for installation I plugged the monitor into a single USB port and it came on I configured it for the left side of my computer. When I rotated the screen it changed over very quickly and easily.I like the resolution and brightness of the screen. There's only one angle you can set to lean the monitor back but it was sufficient for work at a conference room table or hotel room desk.It is incredibly light and takes up as little space as I could hope for. On longer trips I will either have to check a bag or rethink my packing in order for it to fit in the carry on all the time.The product page suggested a sleeve for the monitor and it fits fine even though it's clearly not made for this specific product. If you're really concerned about the screen getting scratched during transit you'll need to rig up some other kind of cover. I put mine in the sleeve face down on clothes in the carry-on. But I can also slide it next to the laptop in my computer bag along with all my other stuff and it fits.When the screen is active I can view a spreadsheet next to a Word document or a PPT document and still have my email up on the main computer screen. If I'm just working in Word I can rotate the screen to portrait mode and see the whole page at a time. If I'm moving objects between PowerPoint files I can extend the PPT workspace across both screens, cascade the files and either drag and drop or copy very easily. The quality of the screen is comparable to the laptop screen although the resolution is not as high.

This screen is exactly what I was looking for to bring along with me when I am moving from one building/desk to another at school or working at home on the couch while not having to decrease productivity by cramming multiple open windows on my laptop.It is about as thick as my laptop, but it is definitely lighter and fits in my laptop bag with my pc no problem. It is the exact same resolution as my brand new lenovo laptop, so there is no problem with resolution compatibility, and the widescreen, brightness, and crisp finish make it great to look at.Yes, the USB connection port is in a spot where it's tough to see, but hey, mark the right side and get over it. It's nice that the usb port is hidden because it won't get debris stuck in it from day to day use.The unit seems fairly sturdy, although like any other monitor, I wouldn't expect it to take a big fall and keep going.As for glitches that others have reported, it appears user error might be at work... The directions in the booklet it comes with and the user manual that downloads from the disc it comes with are very explicit about setting things up properly and in order. If you follow the directions (usually you have to read them to do that) there is no reason why this shouldn't set up properly on the first try.My only gripe (worth taking off maybe 1/3 of a star, is that the automatic flip between portrait does not seem to work for me. It is super easy to switch the orientation since there's a tray icon for the screen that installs with the driver software, so it's no hassle to do it manually.Basically, for the price, it's a great idea and a product that seems well worth it. If it bugs out on me in a year, it will have been worth it. Will update if it goes before then...

As a very discriminating technology user and buyer, I can't believe anyone would give this less than 5 stars. It is a large, portable LED display that requires only a USB connection for power and video. It works perfectly for me, and only requires a single USB plug, while it comes with 2. I've used this with three of my laptops, none of them has required both USB plugs. The resolution, brightness and clarity are great. I was looking at smaller 14" displays for about twice the cost of this one. I jumped at this when I saw it for under $100.Due to the size, which is a huge positive, it is also not the most portable. However, it does fit into my briefcase/laptop bag if I need it. Also, it has a glossy black frame and housing, which is a fingerprint magnet. It is also extremely light, which may have a flimsy feel. But the stand, which rotates for landscape or portrait mode, is very solid. So overall, the light weight is a plus. Some have complained about the mini-USB plug location. Yes, it could have been a better design. But it's the least of my worries.So as much as I would deduct a star for some of the negatives, I just can't. It is exactly what I was looking for, for under $100. Awesome.

The product is excellent however I am royally annoyed that I had to pay £35 in duty on this item and that this was not made clear. I would have selected a different product had I know so this seems to be sharp practice!!!!!Amazon should be clear on potential costs!.

Really awesome monitor for presentation 1 to 1

The Good- This monitor is advertised to be a portable secondary monitor. I bought it hoping that I would be able to use it as a portable primary monitor for my Mac Mini. I couldn't find anyone who was using it this way, and so I wasn't certain if it would work, but it functions very well in this capacity. When I'm starting up the computer, the screen doesn't turn on for the startup page that features the Apple logo, but once it gets to the login page, the monitor snaps on, and I'm able to log on and use it as a regular monitor with the added benefit of it being extremely portable and not requiring an additional power supply. So I use this monitor as a secondary screen when I'm in my office, and as a primary screen when I'm out. It makes my Mac Mini very portable, and though I haven't tried it at a coffee shop yet, I'm sure confident the setup would work just fine as long as I have access to an electrical outlet (for my mini -- not the monitor). I'm very happy with it!- Some people have reported choppy video, I've checked with youtube videos and just now opened a netflix show just to see, and didn't notice any problems hereThe BadNone of these are of significant importance to me, but I thought I'd list them anyway.- because it's supposed to be portable, it would be nice if it had a cover for the screen. I think I will buy a cheap laptop sleeve to fit over the monitor.- as mentioned in other places, the monitor won't automatically rotate to work in portrait mode when using OSX. You can adjust this setting through system preferences, though.- had trouble opening a keynote presentation when using as primary monitor- screen shows some glare. １７インチ液晶のHP ProBookに接続して使用しています。動画再生はもともと期待しておらず、web閲覧用として購入しました。USB2.0接続のディスプレイにはまったく期待はしていなかったのですが、フル画面の動画再生でもまったくコマ落ちすることなく再生してしまいます。一昔前のUSBディスプレイしか知らなかった自分には、うれしい衝撃でした。表示画像はProBookのものに比べて若干明るさが足りないかな？という感じですが、１万円という低価格とUSBバスパワーのことを考えれば、ものすごく満足できる製品だと思います。ただ不満点としては、背面にVESA規格の壁掛けマウントがつかないことですかね。うまくいけば車載にと思っていましたので、ここだけ残念でした（普通そういう使い方はしない）。
