PS2121513 - OEM Factory Original Amana Refrigerator Ice Maker Replacement

It says an original product from the manufacturer but it definitely looked refurbished. Followed a YouTube video for installation. Fairly straightforward. There was a jumper cable to test if it was installed. When I tried that the dial didn’t rotate. So I thought it was DOA. Anyway, left the cover off just in case. When I got up in the morning there were a few cubes but I just thought they might have fallen off a shelf. Got back from work and it was definitely producing ice. Now working like the old one. Very happy. Big saving from calling someone.

This ice maker is a direct replacement except the small plastic assembly where the water tube goes into to fill the ice maker has a hole on the side of the unit for the water fill tube to slide into. My refrigerator needs the hole on the back side of the assembly. There is a knock out on the back side of the new assembly that I could have removed but this leaves the hole on the side for water to potentially drip out. There is no way to fill the hole on the side of the assembly. There should be a back and side knock out on the assembly to choose from rather the the side opening already chosen by the manufacturer. I had to take completely my old ice maker and the new ice maker so I could remove the assembly on the old one and replace the new assembly.

It took some work to install but can be done without professional help. It works beautifully! It is necessary to know that it may take 24 hours before first cubes arrive. Also, be sure to reset breaker.

The basic system that was delivered works great. But if I had tossed the old unit, I would not have had the wire arm that starts and stops the ice making, and would not have had the hose. So you should warn people that they keep the old unit until they install the new one. Working like a charm.

I had to use power cord and wire loop (that turns on and off icemaker) my old icemaker but it was easy to do hooked it up turned the water on and in a short time was making ice will buy again if needed.

Our old ice maker broke and we decided to buy a new one. This was the cheapest one we could find and It has worked for about 3 months now with absolutely NO issues! Our old one began leaking a little water from the bottom which would freeze and cause HUGE clumps of ice in our ice bucket that had to be manually removed all the time. I would totally recommend doing this yourself and saving money. It was 3 screws and the hardest part was disconnecting the wire from the back of the freezer (because it had some of the leaking frozen water on it) I had to let the freezer warm up and melt to get it out.

This was a replacement unit for my double-door Amana with bottom freezer. The unit came without a cover end-plate or wiring harness--an easy swap-out with the old unit. It took about 15 minutes to complete the installation and I'm not a professional. Works perfectly. Very pleased with the purchase. Would buy it again.

Item was easy to replace and fit exactly as advertised. I was a little surprised that the electric cord/plug was too short (even though it is an OEM part) but the old one worked fine. Original ice maker was leaking causing a large block of ice to form in the bin and this solved the problem. There were other after market items for half the cost but this one works.
