Solved my issues, exactly what I needed
We moved into a larger house than I am used to and our router/modem was on the other side of the house (with the family PC setup) from my room with all my electronics. I would get 1 bar most of the time. Even after connecting a wireless USB dongle to my PC and moving the modem and router to the kitchen, would get two bars at best. Made my console internet capabilities mostly unusable.Since I had Belkin brand router and USB wireless adapter, I went with a Belkin range extender. It's very easy to set this up, if you can get to the instructions first. My PC actually failed on me not long after reading the instructions on disc to wirelessly set up the extender, so instead I completed the instructions with my iPod.I plugged it in where I wanted it, connected to the extender's personal wifi network to start the setup, and while connected to that wifi network, used my iPod to connect to the IP as given in the instructions, and followed everything on the website. I created a 2.4 and 5 network since it's dual band, set up passwords on all of them, and they created in just a few minutes. I now receive 4 full bars in my room and all my internet capable devices run smoothly just about anywhere in the house after connecting to the new network.I have only had this for a month at the least, but so far I have no issues streaming video or playing online even if the LED indicator on the adapter blinks different colors at random.

Extends WiFi, does not extend/increase WiFi speed
**** UPDATED BELOW ****Modest range increase, which, as a range extender, did not meet expectations. As others have mentioned, it runs hot. Very hot. As for being safe to leave on (plugged in) all the time, lightbulbs get hot, too. I just hope I don't have to replace this as often as I replace lightbulbs. The Amazon listing mentions something about a CD being included. Nope. Installation/setup takes place via browser. Guessing a steady blue light is good, and a flashing orange/yellow is bad (or not as good). Included instructions or user's guide beyond what's printed on the box is non-existent. Look online for help topics. I have to keep the N600 within about 20' of the router to keep the light blue. Also, while WiFi coverage increases, there is a substantial download speed hit with devices connecting via the range extender's WiFi. Conversely, if you plug an Ethernet cable in the bottom, it's almost as fast as plugging directly into the router. Purchased to replace the Apple Airport Express/Extreme infrastructure that Apple just abandoned. This was a first look at a replacement. It won't be my last.**** UPDATE AS OF 28MAY18 ****I discovered that anything less than an applauding review prompts Belkin customer service to reach out in almost any means possible. Suddenly, I had a problem or an issue - although Belkin customer service had no idea of the details. They just had to "reach out". If they had spent as much time troubleshooting as they did reaching out, I might have given this device more of a chance. Instead, they became a nuisance. I stand by my previous entry into this review and can assuredly say that this device extends your range at a performance cost - one that defeats the stated purpose of the device. If you want better range and speed, be prepared to spend about $400 or more on a mesh network system. It will provide the coverage, range, and the speed - but at a significant price point. I went with the Linksys Velop 3-pack, and haven't looked back.

Belkin N600
This little device will boost your wifi signal. So easy to install and it works great. If your home wifi doesn’t reach to the other side of your home/apt. This will definitely help you with that problem. If your gaming through wifi and experience some lag, put one of these in your room and plug an ethernet cable to your console. This will definitely improve your wifi signal and you wont be lagging anymore!

Gets VERY, VERY HOT and constantly loses signal
The n600 has been a hassle since I bought it, and I bought two. Yes, both are terrible. It gets unbelievably hot to the touch, which you’ll find out pretty quickly because it goes offline so fast, you’ll need to unplug or adjust it’s antennas. It spends most of its time with blinking yellow lights, until I unplug it and replug it in, that’s an indication of a weak connection. It then briefly goes to solid blue (normal connection) then soon back to blinking. It’s never worked “good” but even it’s weak signal allows one of my wireless cams to connect, so I need it for now.I took someone’s word on a review, that it was a good product, I should have kept reading.Next time I’ll buy one local, at least then it’ll be easier to return if needed. And one reviewer was correct in saying there were no accompanying setup instructions, I looked online too.
