GREAT VALUE! Love this set! So versatile and works wonderfully.
Nice! I love the colors, because you can mix up just about any color from these. Also the little lightweight palette is perfect for plein air painting. There are many compartments to mix in, and they work great! If you want, you can click in/out the colors from within the palette as a whole unit, and that is also a surprisingly great feature too! The place in front of the paints is large enough to fit a travel paintbrush, a water pen, and a liner marker. I recommend this paint. You can't go wrong with Kuratake. My fav!!!

Vibrant Transparent Colors in a Compact Case
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Transparent pan watercolors, brush and pen in a convenient case. Compact size for travel and pocket sketching. I am usually not a fan of nylon water brushes, but I tried it and it did a great job. I was able to control the water and paint with ease. The pen also worked well. Plenty of vibrant colors and mixing areas for my project. I also used this set along with a non-transparent set and it worked great for various effects .... sun rays, fog, waterfalls, flower petals, etc.

A great travel kit - NOTE - there are Two Different Versions of this !!
I really love this little kit -- however, I didn't notice that there are two versions!! of this travel kit, and they have different colors!!I originally had ordered the other one, which I loved so much, I tried to order the same one for a friend... Well, it came today, and I was surprised (and disappointed!) that the colors aren't the same as the one previously purchased. So, apparently, Kuretake offers this in two different color palettes, but they are offered on Amazon on different pages! (???!!)This kit says it is "Transparent" and the other one...I think it just says "Vibrant". Anyway, I really like the other kit's colors...but since this is a gift and I don't have time to return it and send the gift, she will receive this one. It almost looks like they made a 'modern color' palette and a 'traditional' palette, but that must have gotten lost in the translation from Japanese. I have some of the larger paints, and those are really nice too.In the photos, there are color swatch charts, which you can compare to see what each one has in it. WISH I would have known that before ordering! Which is why I'm writing this review. (You're welcome!)Either way, this is a great little travel kit, with everything you need except a bit of water - just pre-fill the brush, or if you're going on a commercial plane, wait til you're on board! and some watercolor paper or pad. For a small painting, or sketch journal, it is perfect! Once you get the hang of using the water brush, it's actually quite fun. The paint behaves differently from when using a regular brush, and I noticed it sort of changed how I painted, and how the color went down on the paper -- all fun and positive experience. If you need a compact travel kit, this one is definately a winner...but you might compare the two different versions to see which color palette will work for what you are going to paint. Have fun!

Good travel palette and transparent watercolors
Not bad. Colors look transparent, palette doesn't bead, handy size for travel. Includes water brush and pen. Only issues are that the paint isn't very pigmented and they aren't filled very high. Decent value.Colman is a better value. However this has a larger the mixing area and space for a brush and pen. If you are on a real budget get the cotman or Sakura koi. If not then this is a nice more attractive and convenient alternative.

Transparent colors - very nice quality product
These are pure transparent colors that blend beautifully. The color selection is good. The waterbrush and pen are both very nice quality. With a little journal (watercolor paper) and a cloth or paper towel in my purse I can paint anywhere.

Great Portable Kit
I've taken this little watercolor kit to Rhode Island while on vacation. Its small enough to fit in my back pocket yet contains everything I need, but paper, to produce a watercolor project. Take it anywhere. Love it.

A nice assortment of colors in a travel case
Although paint is highly pigmented, I am not happy that the wells are less than half-full
