Excellent SSD for those old machines gathering dust!
Other than the PATA connector, this SSD installed just like any other. I was already aware that the manufacturer would not be including any installation information with the drive and there wasn't any on their website, either. If I was new to computers this could have been intimidating, but if you have even a little experience, with all of the information that's available on the internet you should be able to get through the install. I didn't need to change the way the manufacturer had set the pin selector, so the important thing was to be sure that the drive was aligned before I put my latest drive image on it. There's lots of free software to help you with getting the alignment set correctly, just do a search online and do a little reading. My old Dell Inspiron 700m laptop is still running XP Pro with all of the updates, and due to the way Dell set this machine up it's a lot of work to install Win 7 or later. Besides, I'm using the machine in my shop, mostly for locating repair information for whatever project I'm working on, so Firefox and XP work fine for me in this case. My Dell booted up without problem and has cut the time needed to just a few seconds. This is a great SSD for older machines that you may have thought could never be updated. You can with the Zheino. It's beautifully made and very solid when you handle it. I was impressed with how it looked when I took it from its box, and even more impressed with how it has really improved the speed my Dell boots and operates. By the way, the 700m uses Intel's old "Centrino" platform, including an Intel 1.6 ghz pentium M, so the improvement in speed the laptop is working at now is great! I was using a 7,200 rpm laptop hdd, which was an improvement when it was installed, but this new Zheino SSD blows it away. I've been using the drive for a number of weeks now and have experienced zero problems. Hopefully, this drive will continue to impress me for a long time. I highly recommend the drive.

Fast performance & perfect replacement for 2.5 inch IDE drives
Perfect replacement for older (and slow) 2.5 inch IDE hard drives. My Toshiba Satellite M55-S325 laptop's CPU is only Pentium M 1.73 GHz with 2GB ram. XP is no longer supported and the laptop was too slow for Windows 10. I pulled its disk and put in this Zheino SDD. No configuration.Windows 10 loaded without problems and runs acceptably now that the disk is solid state. I'm very pleased this SDD has given the old laptop more useful life.

Old PCs fountain of youth!
Great drive to update older systems, revived my HP DV5000 to a state that's workable, the old drive just spun. Now it's runs windows 10 with no issues.

Jumpers for IBM T43
Ho-hum performance. Arrived with jumper set for Master which failed on my T43. Needs to be set as SLAVE according to their configuration card for the IBM T43. I think it's actually Cable select (CS) according to the IDE standard. Removing jumpers which is normal for most hard disks also failed on the IBM T43. Interesting for me was the Kingspec needed the Master jumper.

Excellent replacement for old IDC harddrives
I'd been watching for a good SSD to upgrade my old IBM Thinkpad G40 laptop. While the 100GB Hitachi has performed well, it's performance was now well behind current disk drives on the market. Since I was stuck with the IDE interface, this 2.5" form factor SSD with PATA interface fit the bill perfectly. While the company doesn't specifically say it's appropriate for an Windows XP operating system I figured it was still worth a shot. I ordered up one and researched the web for modifications to XP using SSD's to minimize drive wear.Drive arrived nicely packaged and on time. Loved the clean simple design and logo. Used my cloning software to transfer everything to the Zheino drive. One minor issue that showed up during cloning was the Windows cloning software didn't show make/model drive info like previous drives. The cloning process took about 2hrs and went without a hitch. Installed in the drive in the laptop caddy and then in the laptop in just few minutes. On initial boot up Xp identified the new drive, made adjustments, and requested reboot again. Second boot went perfectly and was obvious the drive was much faster than the Hitachi. Programs load a good 30-50% faster than before. I'd noted with the Hitachi that OpenOffice would take several seconds to complete the loading screen before application was ready to use. Now it takes about 2 seconds. After a few on/off cycles with the laptop I remembered to check the devices info to see if the drive model/type info was still blank. Nope, it was now appearing as CHN 25PATA01M 128. Excellent! While I've only used my first Zheino drive for two or three weeks now I was so impressed with the improvement in performance I purchased two additional drives for spare G40 laptops I have. So, overall I've found the Zheino 128GB SSD to be a very good buy and is certainly worth considering for older laptops using the IDE interface standard.

Compatable!
Did some research, found that this model is the one you want to get if you have oddball hardware like an ATM, Moog, or a Dodge MyGig Stereo. The last one affects me.Bought this to replace the failing harddrive in my car's stereo after being quoted $800+labor to replace the head unit. Cloned the existing drive using CloneZilla and a IDE->USB adapter cable, leaving the existing partition sizes as-is (didn't want to mess with resizing issues and MyGigs can't handle more than about 3,000 tracks anyways). Dropped right in, system works great. No longer have to worry about potholes vibrating the harddrive apart. Hardest part was figuring out where all the screws on the car go. Recommended.
