Sofirn SP36s is a great, easy, super bright flashlight.
First thing is that this is a great flashlight. I got the "package" which includes the batteries and charging cable and would recommend doing that unless you are an experienced flashlight person who has multiple matched 18650's laying around.Beam/reflector: It's the left one in the picture next to an original BLF Q8. (the tint difference is not as pronounced as it seams in the picture. must be a white balance thing) It's impressive because the Sofirn SP36s has a smaller head and footprint overall, but very similar beam profile and power as the larger Q8. It's 4 leds with 4 well differentiated and deep smooth reflectors. It has both good throw and good spill. On a low setting it can fill a room or help you look all the way down a road while walking a dog .LED: Sofrin uses four LH351D leds at just over 5000k and 90 CRI. It's a very clean mid-day sun type color. I like it a lot and it feels bright. At this point in LED technology, probably no light should be less then 90 CRI and this really makes for great color rendering.Lumens/ramping: It's versatile. Moonlight - 5200 lumens makes this is a very bright flashlight. A don't flash in your eyes type flashlight. A scare small animals and distract would be attackers type flashlight. That's all good stuff. All that can be done with a double click to "turbo". Or it can be a simple find your glasses under the bedside table with "moonlight" mode, which is a simple press and hold. In between that, I really like to use the smooth ramping mode, which has become my preference across the board for all my flashlights with this option. This means you can get any amount of light you want like it's on a dimmer, and it's very easy to use. If it's not set up this way when you get it, do yourself a favor and follow the directions to switch modes.Power indicator: This is useful. When you turn it on the button is green if it's charged then various stages of as it discharges.Charging: It charges pretty fast. This is a great feature for a light with multiple lithium batteries. Also, it's easier and safer for people that don't have a charging station set up, making it a good gift for people you really like. Anyone you give this flashlight to will like it and use it and thank you for it.Size: The size is great. I have medium/large hands and it's very comfortable. More like a Redbull can than a Beer and should still be comfortable for people with either smaller or larger hands. It can easily fit in jacket pocket or maybe pants that are not tight.Heatsink/knurling: There's good texture on the body and the shape of the heatsink makes indexing the power button easy. At first I thought it could use a larger heat sink, as it does get hot quick on turbo, but that's normal, and it has very good temperature regulation, so no issues. Also, there's plenty of light so I can't see many situations where you would have to run anything close to turbo for very long. I'd also rather have the option of a very bright turbo for a few minutes in a small package like this then worry about managing a bigger heatsink.Anodization: It's black, smooth, consistent. It's pretty much the standard for reasonably priced flashlights. So, if you're looking for most everything you get with a great "soda can" light like the BLF Q8, but in a smaller, easier, internally rechargeable package, or if you want to get a gift for someone and have them tell you all the time how impressed they are, this is a great light for that. Also, you can be reasonably sure no one around you will have a brighter flashlight unless they're a collector or professional. It's my new recommendation for anyone that wants a really good/powerful light at a very reasonable price.

Get's very hot on high, but maximum output rarely needed for this great floodlight.
Its first this flashlight was awkward to hold it's not large it's not small but after using it several times it is my go to Flashlight the light does not shine as bright as my tk45 which is rated at 4000 lumens however it does give off a nice flood light. Anything past 75% brightness will cause the light to heat up to the point that you can't hold it with your bare hands. The temperature of the light is very neutral. If I could make one change to the design of this light I would add a whole somewhere on the end for a lanyard.UPDATE: I've had this light for several months now, and I find the power to size ratio to be very convenient. It was pointed out to me that the batteries may need an upgrade to match the brightness of my Fenix TK45, however I would like to clarify that what I meant is the Hot Spot on this is non-existent, therefore the throw is not as bright as my TK45, however, I prefer this flashlight when i am wandering about in the darkness, as the spill and overall flood of the light is very nice to use, and to be honest, there really isn't much need for maximum brightness unless you just want to show off. (Who doesnt!!) Also the USB-C charger is wonderful!! To not have to open up and plug batteries in is such a convenience. I really want to rate this at 5 stars, but missing a lanyard, and a USB seal that is a bit difficult to push in, I would rate this a solid 4.5. At 70 Bucks, you really will not be disappointed. I look forward to the evolution of this brand.

I like it a lot.
A crazy bright flashlight at a very good price. The light is well built with a glass lens and a lighted, positive-feeling switch that is nearly flush with the body. There are two user interface modes: a stepwise brightness mode and a continuously variable mode that allows for lower brightness than the lowest stepwise setting. There are also strobe and SOS modes. Battery life on a charge is also very good, and charging is USB-C fast charge.

What a flashlight!
This is a must have for someone who is just starting their flashlight collection. Its affordable, simple to use and yet so powerful. I have purchased flashlights in retail stores that cost the same and isn't even as bright as this one. The user interface is very simple and easy to understand so you cant go wrong. I would definitely recommend this flashlight to family and friends. Well worth the money!

Batteries won't hold a charge. Don't count on using it right away.
Flashlight came and looked pretty good. Flashlight would not turn on. Plugged it in and flash light would blink with low power. Charged it for a few hours and still nothing. Luckily had ordered some off market batteries. Stock batteries are garbage. So don't expect to use it right away.

Watch for temp of light when ordering. I did the rookie mistake I give everyone else cramp for
With any of their products, this light is bad a**. Batteries last. Gets a little warm because it’s a lot of light but compared to the sp33 V3.0 it’s not much brighter than that. Lumens claiming twice the light

Fantastic light
The flashlight settings are great for any need. The highest level is super bright. I love the ability to have it stand solidly as a lamp. Was very useful during a recent power outage.
