Ever After High Spellbinding Secret Chest

My two eight year old daughters have had these chests for a year now and they still like them. It is tricky to say the password the exact same way every time but I think they enjoy the challenge. It is easy enough to re-do the password anytime they want. They particularly like it when someone else tries to get in and it makes a breaking-glass sound after three failed tries. If this happens when they are not around, the sound let's them know that someone made the attempt and failed while they were away.There is a key with a different design for each of the main characters and they use the key to record secrets, which I have to say is pretty cute. The things they come up with as "secrets" are endearing.Overall this is an excellent product and I recommend it for EAH fans.

The BEST christmas gift according to my 10 year old niece. Its creative and fun and will keep the kid interested in playtime. The box comes with specia keys that can lock the chest. Its very pretty and a lot of fun.

My daughter loves this box. I gave it 4 stars though because it does have difficulty recognizing her voice. We ended up having to set the password with a password only 3 letters long since any other length of password would never register as being the correct password. You have to say the password in the same tone of voice each time, from the same distance away from the box and this is on the low security setting. That being said though she loves this box. The memory keys are awesome and overall this box is awesome! I as a parent love the fact that there is a reset button on the bottom in the event she doesn't remember her password or the box won't recognize her password or voice. I would totally recommend this box, just keep the password short.

I am actually shocked at how well this box works. I assumed it wouldn't really have much voice recognition at all because let's face it, it's just a plastic box. It really does recognize the user's voice though! I tried mimicking my daughter's voice and pace for her password because she wanted to see if it would open for me and it didn't. Her sisters did the same and it really only opens for her. It's also just a cute little toy for those who love Ever After High.

Cute idea, but my daughter was in tears trying to set password, then use the same voice intonation to open the box. Voice recorder is extremely sensitive. We're a pretty tech savvy family, but this was truly frustrating even as an adult. Either increase the age appropriateness (age 10, where they could perhaps understand the importance of replicating exact tone/voice), or use a less sensitive recorder. We also purchased the Password Journal, but that product's recorder was less sensitive.

This toy is a waste of money. Aside from the five minutes after she opened it my daughter has rarely played with it again. The voice recognition never recognizes her voice so she has to keep changing and recharging passwords. A paper journal with a key would be a much better choice.

This thing was a huge waste of money!! My daughter loves ever after high and saved her money to buy this product, she was so disappointed when it arrived. It is lame, cheap and not worth the cost. I felt bad for her wasting her money on it.

Got this for my 10 year olds birthday, She wanted this so bad, its a lot of fun. Each key records anything you want. Has held up really well for about 2 years. She thinks the secret compartment is the best part.
