OK...this isn't a product review, this is to worn people NOT to use the instructions that come with the product...please LEARN the FISHLESS CYCLE way to cycle the tank...The Instructional videos for this product are ridiculous! I hope no one uses them, they would kill the fish, or at best they may live but they would be very sickly for a while. It takes more than 3 or 4 days to cycle a tank, i don't care what chemicals you use, and even so, You had better test the water first! just to make sure it IS ready for fish! Shame on you FLUVAL!Yes there is a way to cycle your tank without putting live fish through the process of killing them. GOOGLE it!

Three stars only because it was so beautiful... I installed one of these last weekend in my living room. It was not my first or only aquarium; I'm an experienced fishy person. I set it up, and it was drop dead gorgeous. The lighting and neatness of the filtration system really looks awesome.Then an hour later I noticed a drip, drip, drip onto my hardwood floor. I took out the décor, emptied out all the water and moved it to a safe location, where I filled it halfway and watched it carefully. Sure enough, the tank leaks from the bottom. I returned it to the store for a full refund.It completely killed a Sunday, but at least I found the leak the same day before it did any real damage.There is a reason these tanks are going at bargain basement prices.

I purchases this a few months ago for $70 at Petco and Have had no problems. As long as you follow the instructions it doesn't leak. The only reason i gave it four stars is that the filter isn't great. It does its job as long as you don't overstock but if you plan to get more fish you will need to upgrade the filter. When I purchases it, it was missing about 6 pieces and fluval sent them to me, and I received them within two days. I highly recommend this tank

Dont fall for the hype. The filter is not up to the task. The heater ran hot. I did call and got a replacement beater but it just did the same thing. Also, the light can not be put on a timer as it toggles between on, blue (night) and off. I have wasted so much money buying a new canister filter, reliable heater and soon new light that I can put on a timer. I just wished I would have put my own unit together from the beginning as its really not that hard with all the info one can find online. I fell prey to the hype and thought I had found a tank that needed minimum care. That is 100% false.

It's had it's problems but the filter is still working, the heater is fine, but I don't think this is the best tank for plants. It's a really good idea and great for a busy lifestyle. I've had this for a year and a half or so now, and everything's fine. When I first bought this tank it had a leak in the very top left corner but I exchanged it for the tank I have now and it's been pretty seamless.*any fish that likes to get above the water like a crab (haven't had one in here, I'm not stupid) or a dwarf frog - don't house here. The place behind the filter is uncovered and they will jump out.
