Geeetech 3D Printer Filament,Luminous PLA Filament 1.75mm,Glow in The Dark Blue 1kg (2.2lbs) 1 Spool

PLA can be hit and miss as the filament market expands. I have gotten PLA that just didn’t seem to want to provide stress free prints, regardless of what I did within the printer settings. Because of this, I primarily use only two different companies under normal circumstances. However, I recently was asked to test Geeetech’s gold silk filament. I agreed to do so, only under the grounds that I was permitted an honest review. I wanted the freedom to really hammer this product if it deserved it. They were very gracious in accepting this condition, so I’m writing this review uninfluenced by any other source but my own experience with this product.Out of box, one thing I did notice is that the temp range is not printed on the spool. But, PLA, if it is quality PLA, will print well within a wide range of temperature settings, so I decided to run a temp tower to see where this PLA’s honey spot is. It seems to be around 190 to 195. However, it preforms fine at 200, and, for Vase mode, I like to keep the filament a little thinner than it needs to be. I opted to do two vases and at least one sculpt to see how this stuff would perform (see photos).To put it mildly, this filament was a beast during my printing time with it. It had great bead adhesion throughout all my test prints. It printed with no issues at all from the start. I chose Low-poly Rose Twist Vase by riskable and Spiral Vase by Yllonnoce. With the vases, they both printed with 0 blemishes, and I was very impressed by that with it being sparkly filament. The results were just flat out beautiful. In vase mode, there was zero evidence of layering, and very little stringing, even at 200 degrees.The sculpt I chose was Angel Statue Scan by mrtom82. This print turned out beautiful. I printed it in two different sizes, and I was impressed with both. The first print I did seemed to have some slight color variation along the back side layers, but, as you can see from the pictures below, it was just gorgious over all. The bigger, second print seemed to have no color deviation and was very pretty. The images below have not had any post production work done to them. There was a tiny bit of stringing, but I’m guessing this could be corrected by playing with settings or temps.So…to sum this up:Pros:-Absolutely beautiful material esthetically.-Tolerant of a wide range of temperatures.-Reliably prints multiple types of files.-More affordable than same quality competitors-Excellent bead adhesionCons:-Need temp range guide on the spools-Possibly some color variance (I can’t confirm this, because I couldn’t tell if what I was seeing was actually just the way the light was reflecting off the beeds of the layers)Honestly, after running this filament, I’m actually a fan of Geeetech and will most likely try some of their other products. I think they are a company that is going to be big in this industry. When you have a 25 dollar filament that prints like a 40 dollar filament, you deserve to climb the ranks. This filament was a strong, beautiful, and easy to manage print material, and I was VERY pleased with my results. I highly recommend this filament to those of you looking for metallic or silk prints. It is well worth the money.

I got this Geeetech Silk Copper filament.I received two Geeetech Silk filaments, one Copper and Silver. My first 3D printer was a Geeetech so I was slightly excited to learn of their entry into the materials market.Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way: This stuff is really pretty. In some variable layer height prints you can make the lines disappear. It seems to be functional over a large range of temperatures, though I had stringing issues that were hard to tune out, especially in multi-material set ups where the nozzle temperature varies.The material is very shiny, seems to have ok mechanical properties, doesn’t jam nozzle (no particles, though those are rarely an issue).I printed primarily with 0.4 mm nozzles and generally around 205C with a lot of traction.I suspect the material will behave better with carefully tuned k-factor/linear advance. The Silver and Copper silk work very well together and I’ve included some pictures of both.Both spools came in well sealed bags including desiccant. I got another spool from the same brand which wasn’t sealed as well but generally there seems to be care.See pictures for results. I printed challenging prints and mostly got good overhangs, even without support. The steepest of curved walls had a decidedly different finish which could likely be tuned out with print speed and cooling. The silk gets dull if printed very fast or at low temperatures.Lastly I had them out of the bags for ~1 week with no ill effects, even in humid weather.Definitely recommended for art projects. It may not be a great mechanical material but I didn’t notice any obvious flaws.

I purchased the pearl/metallic silver filament and spent a full day trying to get this stuff to print properly and nothing I do works. It doesn't stick to itself at all, so when you lay down a bunch of lines next to each other to form a surface, they just fall apart immediately. Increasing temperature or flow didn't help at all. The stuff also warps horribly, the entire bottom of whatever I'm attempting to print just ends up all wavy because its warped so bad. Also the extrusion is so inconsistent, some places are so under-extruded that its falling apart, and other parts are so over-extruded that there are just gobs of material hanging off of them. The stuff almost acts like its compressible so as you increase extrusion, it just becomes compressed in you're nozzle rather than flowing out at higher rate. Then, as soon as the nozzle lifts up a little and the pressurized plastic in your nozzle has somewhere to go it just all shoots out as a big glob.I tried everything with this stuff. I printed slow, turned on coasting and played with coasting settings, I tried different temperatures from 190-220, I tried line widths from 90% of my nozzle width all the way up to 120% of my nozzle width. I tried flow modification of up to 130% and still got under-extrusion, until of course my nozzle lifted up to change layers and then the massive blob shot out. I tried turning the part cooling fan off, as well as running it at 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. No matter what I did, this stuff still printed so bad it was unusable. Maybe someone with a direct extruder rather than Bowden would have better luck, but personally I'd advise staying away from this stuff.

Bonjour à tous,J’ai le plaisir de vous présenter une petite revue du filament GEEETECH SILK COPPER que j’ai testé pour vous.Le colis m’est parvenu moins de 24h après ma commande sur AMAZON (prime). Le colis était parfaitement conditionné. La bobine étant sous blister et sous vide accompagnée d’un sachet de silicate anti-humidité. Après quelques vérifications au pied à coulisse numérique, j’ai pu constater que le filament a un diamètre régulier 1,75 mn (il est a noté qu’après l’utilisation complète de la bobine, aucun nœud ni boucle sont à signaler).Concernant le filament, j’ai commencé mes essais par une tour de chaleur variant de 190° à 230°.Aucune indication concernant les températures n’était inscrite sur la boite et la bobine.Les résultats montrent que la température idéale se situe entre 205° et 215°.Viennent ensuite les tests du lit d’impression : mes essais ont été effectués sur un miroir, entre 50° et 60° l’adhésion est parfaite. J’ai également entrepris une impression sur un lit non chauffé et là il s’avère que de la 3D lac est nécessaire pour une bonne prise de la première couche.A propos des hauteurs d’impression, j’ai effectué des prints avec des hauteurs variables allant de 0,10 à 0,4 mm. Sur toute cette plage, je n’ai noté aucune difficulté d’impression et aucune occlusion de la buse. Il est cependant à noter que 0,10 mm soit la limite la plus basse avant d’éventuels bouchons ou jamm. (Ce filament comporte de fines particules de matière donnant l’aspect du cuivre).En conclusion, le résultat de mes différentes impressions est bluffant et parfait. Chaque couche est parfaitement alignée et les petites particules donnant l’aspect cuivre lustré masquent totalement les stries des hauteurs de couche donnant un résultat parfaitement lisse comme du cuivre.Dommage que GEEETECH n’est pas pensé à proposer des bobines en carton recyclable.les prints ci dessous ont été réalisés sur une A20M ( TM2208 / Damper moteur / extruder Bondtech / marlin2 custom ) / température 215°/55°/ vitesse 60mms / slicer CURA 4 )

So, after a good experience with the Geeetech White filament, I thought I'd give something sparklier a try.This is an interesting filament, unlike most I've used it's pretty hard to snap off the reel. It adheres to my Prusa i3 Mk3S smooth PEI bed like nothing I've ever seen - I've taken to cleaning the bed less when using this or it can actually be hard to get parts off! If you just want a PLA to stick to the bed well, buy this and don't bother reading the rest! I really mean it, I've never encountered anything like this in terms of bed adherence.I kept the settings to the Prusa defaults, which I've generally had a lot of luck with, so 60 degrees on the bed and 215 degrees on the hotend.So far I've printed a brush holder, which is nice and shiny, and then thought I'd try some multimaterial prints.The thing about multimaterial prints on the Prusa with the MMU2S, is that it has to repeatedly unload and load the filament into the nozzle. The 2 colour benchy at 0.1mm layers I printed, changed filaments 335 times during the print, the other filament used in it was Geeetech Marble.If a filament is too stringy, too soft, snaps easily, or generally uneven, multimaterial prints like this are an utter nightmare, of failed loads followed by beeping for you to manually intervene.I didn't have a single failed load during this print (or during the star trek bade, but that one was only a few loads). I'm really impressed!And, to cap it all off, like the other Geeetech filaments I've tried, the price on this is definitely right.

Fantastic product!! This is actually my third roll of GITD filament, the previous two being from a different company. The difference is incredible! I have attached two photos, one with the lights on showing both benchies (geeetech right, competitor left) and again with the lights on. The left benchie is still there, honest! Not that you’d know. The ‘dark’ photo was taken after just a couple of minutes of artificial light and the geeetech benchie was positively glowing, and continued to do so for quite some time after. Can’t wait to print more stuff in it!The filament came well packaged and is wound so neatly on the spool, it was a real shame to start unwinding it!Just a word of warning, speciality filaments suchbas GITD or metallic ones are known to wear nozzles out much faster than ‘normal’ PLA, so if you start using these filaments heavily, be prepared to replace your nozzle sooner than you might have expected.Great filament, couldn’t recommend Geeetech enough!

Another good filament from Geeetech. I've had good success from a lot of their filaments.It sticks to the bed well but you do need to increase your printing temperature as stated. I set mine to around 215 and it printed perfectly.I was a little sceptical that the phosphorus in it would affect the printing ability but it really didn't make any difference to the quality.I have to say I was a little disappointed with the glow in the dark. It does indeed glow in the dark really well but after about 10 minutes the glow hard gone.After looking online it's about normal for glow in the dark. (Maybe I just remember it lasting longer as a kid)Anyway my kids loved this filament and i've had lots of requests for prints.Just a heads up It's quite a clear filament once printed so if like me you used a dark colour before this one you may get traces from your hot end show on your prints.
