Great book for sympathy instead of card for someone. who has lost a pet. I have sent it 3xs. Everyone loves it. Can only find on on Amazon!

I received this book in the mail from the veterinary hospital that treated our beloved cat, Salem, in his last days with us. It was a surprise to get a package from the hospital, and I couldn't imagine what could be inside. The doctor, along with the techs and receptionist, had written consoling messages inside the book's cover and they had attached a picture of Salem while he had been there receiving one of his hemodialysis treatments. The story is so sweet and touching, but I do get very, very sad anytime I read it.We lost Salem last October. He was only 4 years old. Uncharacteristically, he had eaten one of the lilies that I had purchased in a bouquet. Unbeknownst to me, ALL species of lily is fatally toxic to cats and it only takes a small amount of ANY part of the plant to quickly start kidney failure. If I had gotten him to the vet within the first 8 hours, he could have been saved, but it was about 72 hours after he ingested the plant that I realized what had happened. We took a 50/50 chance on his survival and put him through 3 hemodialysis treatments, but he didn't recover. He died at home with us at 12:30 AM on 10/01/07. We miss him terribly and look forward to joining him in Heaven one day.Now I am sending this book to a dear friend who just lost her 7 year old cat to cancer. I hope that it will console her in her time of deep loss and sorrow.

I had to make the hardest decision to have my 19 year old forever cat, Orson, put to sleep in December. I have bought books about how to deal with the greif, and there is a ton of grief and tears, but realized I needed something to read to bring me some hope of healing. This wonderful book does that and more. Yes, I cried more tears when I read it but this time just maybe they were healing tears. I would recommend this book to anyone who has lost his/her forever cat or as a gift to a friend who has lost a cat.

This lovely little book is not only a must-read for people who have lost a beloved cat; it is a book that reminds us of the rewards of having that "forever-bond" with a special pet. With its emphasis on "forever" homes and depiction of people going to an animal shelter for a pet, we are reminded of the number of homeless animals out there who are ready to be someone's soul-mate if only given that chance. In our modern "throw-away" society, it is so rewarding to read a book that celebrates the joys of a permanent bond with, and committment to, a pet. My best friend sent me a Willow Tree figurine of an angel holding a cat close to her after my forever cat Hannah died. While at a Barnes and Noble store I found the book "For Every Cat an Angel". I believe that companion animals do go to heaven. The figurine and book remind that one day I'll see all the cats I've lost over the years. I have since bought Willow Tree figurine and copies of the book to send to any friend who has a much loved cat die. It has helped me to grieve and rejoice. There is also a Willow Tree figure of an angel holding a dog very close and there is the book "For Every Dog an Angel for those who've lost beloved dogs.

For Every Cat an Angel is a perfect book for anyone who has lost a "heart" cat and been laid low by grief and sadness. Every parting leaves us with questions: Will we see our loved one again ... will we be reunited with our beloved ... do they sense our grief and pain after they have moved on ... do their spirits visit us ... will I have a sense of their nearness and see them in my dreams? This enchanting little book speaks to these things and more via simple yet profound prose and delightful artwork. It's a wonderful book for those who grieve a beloved heart cat.

I received this book from the very caring staff at the veterinarian's office after losing my forever cat Sweetpea. She was the best cat ever and I had a really difficult time mourning her loss. This book although written to appeal to little kids has a comforting timeless message for anyone of any age who has ever loved and lost a pet. It really helped me a lot. I have subsequently given this book as a gift to several people I know who have lost pets. There is a dog version as well. I highly reccommend it to help heal from the loss of a furry friend.

This is a lovely little picture book and I imagine would be wonderful for Children who have lost a beloved animal companion! I purchased this along with Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates & Animals & the Afterlife (my absolute favourite), and I found that the 3 combined helped me through the worst times of my grief and loss. This book now lives on my bedside table, and wheneve I feel a bit lost without my beautiful cat Tyson I read it and it makes me smile.

From front cover to last page, I found this book enchanting, I also became emotional. I love cats and dogs but cats win me over. This book reminded me of my own fur angels. From illustration to to story this book is a must buy for children an adults. A treasure ❤️

This is such a beautiful little book and I found it comforting after we lost our cat suddenly when he was killed by a car. Lovely words and pictures make it a very special keepsake.
