Sidapur Pure Filter Coffee - Roast & Ground (Powder) 100% Coffee, 0% Chicory (35.20 Oz)

I used to buy coffee powder from a local stores in Pune. The stores is closed due to lockdown and I ran out of coffee powder. During my search in Amazon, I discovered Sidapur coffee. I ordered first time in May and I was so impressed with the taste and the aroma, that I repeated the orders twice. The packaging is excellent. Retains aroma. The whole gets filled with the aroma of coffee when I brew it in the morning. This has not happened for a very long time. Great coffee. Great value for money

Packaging was great. Now with that out of the way, I can get to the actual coffee itself. Grounds had almost no smell, so I'm guessing stale. When brewed the coffee had some aroma, but again, very muted behind musty, woody notes. Coffee itself had very pronounced sourness no matter how long or how little I steeped them for, with no freshness. It had a bitter bite which was very muted, and no other notes I could taste. I don't know if it was the grind or the roast or even freshness but this coffee has finally given me the right perspective on what does NOT make a good cup of coffee. Had to chuck it all into a jug of cold water and make myself a giant batch of cold brew just to make it taste tolerable and bought the usual coffee I get for regular use.Also, almost no kick. More like a breeze of caffeine, and not a very pleasant one at that.

I Liked both the flavour and smell. If you are a black coffee lover and addict like me, you will love it.Just like with any other coffee, once you adjust and get to know the right amount of powder and water for brewing, you will love it. Packing is very good. Really like it. As with everything else on Amazon, a little less price would have made my smile wider.. but its not a complaint, just a wishful thought.5 stars for taste and smell. Go for it.

I used to be an avid fan of Sidapur pure filter coffee. They used to have a nice nutty and chocolatey flavour and I used to enjoy my morning brew everyday. However lately the quality has changed drastically and I no longer get the flavours I used to get. Whenever I used to order coffee, the date of packing would be 2 or 3 days before my order. However this time I got a package that was packed a month ago and the outside package was also torn when I received it. Any coffee fan would know that the more older a coffee powder is, the more it would loose its flavour. I had to ask for a refund. Quality of Sidapur coffee has reduced drastically. I am going to try something else.

I've been buying this coffee direct from their Bangalore office for the past three years and its great its offered on Amazon now. I've tried quite a few brands and non branded one's. This is the best. There's a chocolaty caramel undertone that I love. Try it with different proportions of milk and water till it suits your taste for how thick you want it. Another reason to enjoy a beautiful day.
