Fantastic compact little dehumidifier
This is a really nice dehumidifier. I actually bought it to replace a faulty tumble dryer in the garage! So, I now put the washing on a heated frame in a spare room, and put this dehumidifier on. Within hours, the water bin is full, say, by the time I go to bed. Empty it, it restarts automatically, empty again in the morning and the washing is perfectly dry. In fairness, it is acceptably dry, without the heated clothes frame in several hours. You can hear it operate, and it would probably bother you if you were trying to read or watch the TV in the room, but to dry laundry, in a separate room it is fantastic. To remove dampness from say a basement or any more than one level of a big house, I’d go for something a bit bigger. I have the 22 litre model Lidl supplies for a humid property I own, abroad. The Delonghi is certainly an attractive, light, unobtrusive, compact, extremely effective, reliable, not excessively loud, very easy to use model, that within its size range, I’d recommend to anyone. In a bigger house, maybe have one upstairs and one down. There is a hose pipe attachment, so you can place it on a sink, and leave it running in automatic mode, without needing to be emptied. No negative points, as obviously it needs to make some sound in operating, but it is so attractive, light, easy to use and effective, that for its size range, you really don’t need to look any further. Can’t fault it.

Very effective
Bought this to tackle the damp in an old Victorian house. Boy, has it done its job. It's very straightforward to use, with practically self-explanatory controls, and is quite small and discreet for what it is. It's reasonably quiet - none of us can hear it through a closed door at all, and none of us have struggled to sleep with it running with the door open.We started it off in the downstairs for the first couple of days, then moved it up to the landing, leaving the bedroom doors etc open.On it's highest (40%) setting, it filled the tank within a few hours. We (intentionally) left it to run constantly to start with, emptying the tank when needed - which is very easy to do - and calculated that it removed something like 30 litres of water over a few days. What was very noticeable almost immediately was the lack of condensation on the windows in the morning, and within a couple of days, the whole house felt (and according to our thermometer, was) about 5 degrees warmer, and much more comfortable to be in, without us putting the heating on at all.A couple of weeks in, the extraction slowed down a lot, and we now have it idling on the 50% setting. It turns itself on and off as needed at that point. Our boiler is now set at about half of what it previously needed to be.It does use Electricity, particularly when running constantly, but we knew this would be the case and this has been partially offset by the reduction in our gas heating.

It does the job perfectly.
Bought this to tackle increasing problem of condensation in our spare loft bedroom, which was very bad and causing mould to form. Due to the current energy problems we were not heating our house as much as we used to and coupled with the fact that being winter we had washing drying indoors. This worked like a dream, drew 4 litres of water out of the room in the first 24 hours of use. We have have connected the hose pipe and have arranged it so it will discharge into a 7 litre bucket to avoid having to keep emptying the tank. It is also effective in drying washing which we are having to dry indoors. We are thinking of buying a second one. It is very easy and intuitive to use. The only problem we had was that Amazon were supposed to email a security pass code for use to give to delivery driver but they failed. Driver refuse delivery and took it back to warehouse. It was eventually resolved and delivered next day but it was a right pain in the butt! - totally over-the-top security just for the sake of it. They could change the rules so that you just show driver a copy of your order .. simple.

Excellent customer service from DeLonghi
The dehumidifier itself is very good. It extracts well and is mostly quiet. At times the fan can get a little bit noisy, but usually repositioning or touching the unit can quieten it down again. It's just the nature of the plastic construction. After about 5 months the unit stopped extracting water. The fan was spinning but the compressor was silent. I contacted DeLonghi customer support and they arranged collection and repair at an approved third party company. They were unable to repair it so they sent me a brand new replacement. All in all it probably took 2 weeks.I have no complaints and now I have a working dehumidifier again. I'd give 5 stars for the customer service and 4 stars for the unit itself.

Quiet and works well.
Very quiet and collects water. Fairly small but heavy. Does not have any casters so best to leave in one position.Has 3 levels plus a laundry level.Easy to use and simple controls.A great deal quite than other dehumidifiers that we use.

Noisy with primitive controls.
I was recommended this dehumidifier. I then bought a 2nd MEACO dehumidifier for another room and it was in a completely different league. The DeLonghi is noisy and the settings are very basic. The MEACO Arete 12L was cheaper, quieter, has a HEPA filter and brilliant control settings.
