Safely listen to your music without getting run over by a car!
I've seen a few 1 star reviews on this speaker talking about how if you leave it plugged in over night, it's dead by morning due to some charging issues. I found that kinda odd, but because of the amount of positive reviews, I bought it anyway and left it plugged in last night to test it, no issues. It's charged. I LOVE THIS THING!!! I ride my bike to work on non-rainy days during the summer so I was looking for a speaker to attach to my bike for my 5.5 mile ride. 11 miles in a day with nothing to listen to but the sound of my tires gets kinds dull. Initially, I was thinking of a speaker to attach to my handlebar (this speaker won't work well for that) but then I saw this one in the Sprint store here and thought it would clip quite well to the strap that clips my two shoulder strap on my backpack. I was... sorta correct... because the clip is in the same orientation as the speaker, it would've been hanging sideways... so I used a small carabiner clip on the strap and clipped the speaker to it. Boom! Problem solved! Now I get to listen to some tunes on my ride to work! The sound quality is really good too, but the volume really only works well if it's pointed roughly in the direction of your head... found that out the hard way when I clipped it inside my backpack because it was raining and I didn't want to get it wet despite the water resisting aspect. Well, turns out that the reasonable volume I was hearing was loud enough to potentially wake up my entire apartment building... found that out when I walked in the enclosed hallway... Boy was it ever loud... This speaker also doubles as a speaker-phone, so you can answer phone calls without having to pull your phone out, but the microphone isn't really noise canceling, so be sure to shield it from the wind. For anyone who rides bikes or jogs or even just walks, I cannot recommend this enough. It is way better than headphones since it does NOT plug your ears so you can still hear cars coming. That was my main reason for lining for something like this - safety.

Great speaker, lightweight and good sound
This is a great Bluetooth speaker. It's pretty loud, though it does drain the battery more quickly the louder you play it. I had it up fairly loud (adjust the volume on your phone, too) and was getting about 4.5 hours of play out of it. It charges pretty quickly, and if you don't need it on your body/bag, you can play it while it charges. I've not tried to test the "splashproof" design yet, though. The clip is sturdy and easy to use. It pairs more quickly with my phone than my car stereo does - as soon as both are on, it pairs! The sound is good - yes, audiophiles, I'm sure there's better. But, for $50, it sounds good, is light, compact and sturdy.

Great sound! Great price!
It's great quality device for the price. Very well made and sturdy. For such a small compact design the sound is great definitely considering the price. A good tip is to listen to music and audio in the highest quality you can, like 320 bitrate or higher. It makes a huge difference with a speaker like this. Another tip is to buy manufacture certified refurbished, it will cut the price in half and each device is rigorously tested by an actual human being before it's shipped out. It came in like brand new condition, in the original box.

Solution to the BATTERY issue.
Here are my experiences:A solution to the BATTERY issue!!!*You need to TURN ON then TURN OFF the device after every charge! It seems like the device will not automatically turn off after charge, and it does not seems to be on at the same time (the light indicator was off after charge). I left my device on the table after unplug it from the charger, and it drained during the afternoon. This happened a couple times. So I did a little research and found a customer suggested to turn on then turn off the device. IT WORKS!!*The RED charging light will NOT turn blue. I tried switch the charger, increase the charging time, and nothing happened. I asked the JBL customer service regarding this issue. They said it's not defective and you should get a full charge after two hours no matter what color is the light indicator.Overall, this is a great little speaker. It's loud, charge fast, portable, and well made. I subtract one star for the problem after charging.

Take it with you everywhere
Great portable speaker with some (surprisingly) low frequency capabilities. The speaker is not meant to fill a room with bass thumping music, it is however capable of playing clear and crisp audio for a personal experience. I use it when walking the dogs because the dogs like the music (they told me). This plays loud.. loud enough to be able to enjoy a full range of music. Splashproof.. so it also works in the shower. Just don't submerge it.Big sound from a tiny package. Small enough to take anywhere.

Sleeker look, poorer performance.
This works well. The sound is really impressive. The blue tooth is quick and easy. The controls look nice but functionally they are a step backwards from the older model and it was a mistake to trade better function for a sleeker look. The volume buttons are distinctly more difficult to use that the dial on the older model and the buttons cannot be found in the dark on this model like you could on the old one. I've found it very frustrating to be able to make any adjustment when I have it by the hot tub in the dark at a picnic table in the evening, or in any of the many low light situations you might want a little music in. You have to carry a flashlight with you and this is a big step backward in functionality from the previous version.
