Well, most carabiners from the Home Depot/Lowes/Amazon are just terrible quality long term. They will last you about a year, and then either the strap or the carabiner will fail. I carried my flashlight on a cheap caribiner and the strap failed. Before, the carabiner of a similar cheap setup failed with keys on them. This product on the other hand is designed to last a long time, and since you are most likely carrying keys on it, a few extra bucks are going to be very well spent!

I am one of those people that got a carabiner key ring at some trade show a few years ago. Started using it on a whim and now have made it a part of my world as I find it a great way of keeping track of my keys as I am forever clipping them someplace. Sadly, the one I was using is wearing out, so I looked for a replacement. While there are many versions out there, but few that combine a quality clip with a nylon web link to the key ring. Some just have the ring on the clip and that doesn't look right to me. And some have tiny or very cheap feeling carabiners that feel like they will snap at the first quick pull. This Rothco version looks perfect. It has the nylon web extension that looks well sewn and what appears to be a high quality clip. I look forward to many years of use...plus it came in black, which is slimming.

I have discovered why women carry purses... and why they keep buying larger and larger ones. Long ago, I replaced my overly-FAT wallet with a "man bag." The kind with a masculine-looking seatbelt-type shoulder strap. And, soon found that having the ability to carry more "stuff" means that, yes, one carries more STUFF.My car keys ring with gym membership tag, mini-Swiss knife, etc. was always migrating to the BOTTOM of my purse, er, man bag. Digging for key ring sometimes produced a roll of cough drops or maybe my nose-hair trimmer. With the Rothco Carabiner, I clip it on the heavy hook where the strap attaches to the bag and the cloth strip + keyring on the Carabiner slips in the top of the bag. It then is an easy and quick "find." It is a tough little device so will not soon wear out. GLAD I found it on Amazon!

Everything the las reviewer said was spot on. This is not "Foliage Green" but gunmetal grey. It's not really jumbo but it is larger than most of those tiny keychain carabiners which are useless in my opinion. I actually just received my second order of them I liked them so much. They don't have any notch which makes them perfect for clipping keys to your belt of my favorite use of clipping my water bottle to my backpack. I've used carabiner/keyring combos for years. I love being able to attach my keys easily to my belt loop or purse and NEVER have to scramble to find keys. This product is by far the best combo I've found. The nylon strap is wide and secure. The carabiner is a great quality. I've had products before with inferior carabiners that didn't last long. My only issue is with the way the product is described. I don't know why it's called a "Men's" Carabiner. Is it just because it's a military green color? Also..I don't think the carabiner is "Jumbo". This is a standard size carabiner. Nothing 'jumbo' about it. But aside from the description, this is without a doubt the best carabiner/keyring combo I've ever had.

The color is a gunmetal grey which I like, the hook is smooth so if you're using this as a keychain, it wont get snagged when you're hooking it to your belt loop. The spring and alignment are fine. This is NOT designed for climbing, this is strictly a keychain type carabiner. Additionally, the ad says jumbo, this is 80mm or approx 3.14 inches.Other than that, this is exactly what I was looking for, I just wish I could find one in orange too so if you know where I can get the same style and strength in orange, let me know.

I ordered this carabiner so it would go along with my Honda lanyard. I love the build quality of this. The hinge for the gate doesn't squeak, and its smooth when the gate is pushed back and forth. The paint job is excellent, but after about 2 weeks of owning it, some of the paint did scratch off, but whatever scratched the paint off also scratched the metal underneath off and made an indentation. Other than that, this thing is exactly like it is stated in the description.Pros: Durable, Smooth, Good build quality.Cons: The "Not for Climbing" indentation is a little sloppy (Not sharp, but blurry).I'm a neat freak so I don't think this will affect the general public.I would recommend this product for non-climbers just like it is imprinted on the back of this carabiner.
