2012 album from the hotly-tipped New York band.

if you like freelance whales older stuff you will probably like this. if you like mellow music you will like this. it's not my favorite album by them but it's nice to put on when i'm studying or doing something where i don't really want to have all my focus on the music.

Better than the first.
Wow, just a great album. I was so-so on the first Freelance Whales album. This is a total keeper-- catchy, dynamic, beautiful. I absolutely love the atmospheric layering of sounds. I listen to a lot of contemporary music and I haven't gotten this excited about an album in a long time.

Diluvia Continues to Impress
I really enjoyed the first album by Freelance Whales, Weathervanes. It had the subtle elements of folk music interlaced with experimental synth pads and haunting harmonies/ melodies. With their latest album, Diluvia, Freelance Whales continue to build upon their previous work, and appear to have fully hit their "stride" from a musical standpoint. The introduction to Aeolus is probably the best showcase the band's growing musical maturity...catchy melodies meet harmonies and guitar lines that are unmatched. A true listening experience in an age where music is so often driven solely by rhythm, Diluvia continues to impress well beyond the first listen.

Freelance Whales are a must buy!
Really nice album. Songs are upbeat but calm. Actually very nice for work! (I also recommend you get their other album, Weathervanes)

Can I like Diluvia more than Weathervanes?
I listened to Freelance Whales first album for probably 3 weeks straight when I first bought it. I didn't think I could like any album more. UNTIL Diluvia came out a few weeks ago. I couldn't stop listening to it. I STILL can't stop listening to it. There's a sort of ethereal quality to all of their music, but at the same time, there's plenty of whimsy and a few really cool beats you can dance to, too.If you're just a fan of Hannah, the whole album might not be for you, because the upbeat songs are more of a rarity than the norm on any of their records. If you're a fan of all around good music that leaves you happy and satisfied, though, this one's for you!

diluvia's calming effects
I kept hearing Locked Out on Pandora, it reminded me a bit of The Cranberries moshed with The Shins. I listened to snips on Amazon and thought it was worthy of downloading. I wasn't disappointed, it has become my favorite sleepy-time music, but is good driving down the interstate too. Natives of Queens Borough - they aren't anything like Ramones. I'm happy to have found a good new band to follow.
