The media could not be loaded. I’ve been wanting Doc Martens for a while. I had purchased a few pairs but were hard to break in except some boots. I love that these are only 3 hole laces. I wanted the shiny material as they remind me of my favorite shoes. I work in a hospital and between clinics so I do a lot of walking. They do hurt a bit hence the socks showing. But it’s part of the breaking in process. I have giant feet or so I feel like it. With Docs it’s sometimes difficult to get the right fit. I got these in a 10, usually I get size 9. They’re slightly big but still comfortable. It gives it wiggle room for thick socks and I think it helps it not feel too rough on my heels. I think I’m gonna love these even more once broken into.

The description says they are a slip on that doesn’t need to be tied. The ones I got are just the standard laced ones.

I’m really enjoying these waxed brown leather oxfords, although fair warning, they are quite different in appearance than the smooth leather version. These have much more variation in color and texture, even wrinkling in places, but I think this gives them a lot of interesting character. Tip, massage the heels a bit before you wear them as the heel cups on. The heel cups are pretty stiff and can tear up your heels if you wear them too long before they’ve softened. Also, in my pictures above, I have used a coat of DM’s wonder balsam, and then buffed them up a bit with a horsehair brush. Love!
