Sub output could be higher ...
Works well, mainly purchased for the remote, as my TV remote (for some reason) won't adjust the volume when in optical audio output mode . If you don't need a remote, there are much cheaper options. Sub channel could use more "oomph".

Great Upgrade to Existing Systems
I was surprised how well this works. I use it for optical out from TV and bluetooth. Nice to have as it adds modern conveniences to my old Aiwa surround sound speakers. Keep in mind Bluetooth 5.0 can interfere with 2ghz wifi so don't put this near your wifi router (or use 5ghz instead).

Terrible little unit!
From the moment I set it up and got it running (which was easy!) there was a constant hum across all audio. It was receiving power from my Parasound power conditioner, so I don't think it was an issue with dirty power. The next big issue is the difference between 00 volume (no sound) to 01 volume was massive. 01 on the volume readout was right at a normal listening level, so there was no ability to turn it down because the next step was off. I switched up my amps between a class AB with no volume control and a class D with a volume control and it didn't seem to help with the volume issue. This is a very small complaint, but why aren't there better feet on it? The feet on the unit seem designed to help it slip and slide all over the place if you touch the unit.

It is not worth it.
The media could not be loaded. This was a gift from my son. The description is clear and it all functions well, with one exception that on format changes from TV show to commercials to commercials, the unit can loose synch, requiring one to hit the HD# on the remote to re-sync decoding. A firmware update is would be great to resolve this otherwise it is exactly what is described. The unit works well, other then this issue. I wish we had a URL to access any firmware updates. After asking about firmware update to resolve this issue, the vender blamed the cable box, yet this product has the fault. All other Dolby decoders worked fine. I would suggest another product, from a vender that doesn’t redirect the faults. My Xfinity cable box has not had any issues with any other Dolby decoders.Vender doesn’t provide firmware updates and makes useless judgments. Very unhappy with this junk.
