Battery compartment is NOT waterproof and cause a short
I really liked it when I first bought it but after a few months, some water must've entered into the battery compartment which is at the base of the unit. That corroded the batteries and must have caused a short because even after cleaning and drying, it no longer works. You would think that a device that is going to be used around water would have a water proof base in the battery compartment especially being at the base of the unit where water can easily drip onto.Update: ***Customer Service*** is exemplary. I must say that the company was great and replaced the faulty unit with a new one.

Good Customer Service
Worked One Day! Then wouldn't dispense the soap. Used fresh batteries and followed the instructions to the letter. The first day it even dispensed soap on its own with no one around! The only time it works now is when you take all of the batteries out, put them back in, and it will work only one time, after that there was nothing I could do to make it work. VERY DISAPPOINTED! Will go back to a manual pump.Changed my review to 5 stars because the owner of the store sent me a new product at his expense. Now that is Good Customer Service. Very honest on his explanation of the problem with the dispenser I received, with a sincere apology. Would consider his store in the future.

Worked beautiful UNTIL water slips under the footing ring and rusts out the battery compartment. Then it's useless. Waiting to hear back from Hayden.

... jury is still out but so far I really like the soap volume adjust
Just got it so the jury is still out but so far I really like the soap volume adjust. We've owned this dispenser since early December 2016. Pretty rugged. It finally "died" this past week. I am a tinkerer. I disassembled the dispenser to see why the pump was not running. Kinda strange symptoms. The LED light would activate when setting the volume. No pump activation though. I finally discovered the detector was almost completely contaminated with dish washing soap. The soap is dispensed from a hole in the little arm of course. The detector is right next to it. Internally, the LED detector is protected by some black hard plastic, like hot glue. Some of the soap had leaked from the silicon tubing, under the black plastic and onto the LED, blocking the signal from the source LED on the bottom of the dispenser. I cleaned the receiving LED after removing the black plastic cap. Reassembled the unit and tested it. All is well again. I put some electrical tape between the LED and soap output hole since I did not have black glue and a hot glue gun. Just for information, the little pump on the bottom of the electric motor is a three wheel peristaltic. It is well lubricated. The drive sprocket is small but it seems to work. Watering down the dish washing liquid may increase it's life span.

Just lasted 3 months of use, is rusted and dispenses soap on its own with no one around! or sometimes just doesn't work at all
Just lasted 3 months of use, is rusted and dispenses soap on its own with no one around! or sometimes just doesn't work at all. Contacted Nick and alvin from Hayden company but they offered me to buy the replacement after paying half the cost. WHY should I pay for a product that claims of being waterproof but still rusts in 3 months. POOR Customer service. Would suggest you to buy cheap alternatives to this dispenser and stay away from this company.

Annoying, but not too annoying
I'm glad we got it, despite the price. It's a great change to go from having to touch a kitchen soap dispenser with dirty, germy hands, to not having to touch it at all. And so far it works like a charm - the bottom seems very secure and like it would be hard for water to get inside.I'm not thrilled with the color; my kitchen faucets are silver with gold trim (both shiny), and this is flat silver-ish with an even flatter gold-ish trim, so it doesn't really match like I thought it might. Also, it takes a second for the soap to start coming out ... a second that, when you're in the middle of cooking or have something disgusting on your hands, feels like about half an hour of waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally, I wish there were more than just the button to adjust the amount of soap that comes out - without pushing the button and dispensing some soap, there's no indicator to tell you if you're on the highest or lowest setting.Even so, I think we can get used to the waiting, and once you have it set to the highest dispensing rate you do get enough soap to wash your hands (assuming they are small hands, not that there's anything wrong with that). The cleanliness factor of both not having to touch the dispenser, and of not having soap accumulate around the nozzle and bottom like with other models, is worth it.

Worked ok for 11 months then died
Updated review: we took excellent care of this dispenser. We kept it away from water puddles, food splashed, and hot sun. We learned that hot sun made it harder for the sensor to recognize our hand (or was it bright sun, we weren’t sure) so we put Hayden in a dark, quiet corner on sunny days. Maybe that was when it all began. Soap started coming out watery, or it would keep coming out. Then it got fussier and fussier. Maybe it knew its birthday was coming up and in despair, it cried itself to sleep every night. That’s the only reason I can think that one morning when Hayden wouldn’t respond, I offered fresh batteries. I was horrified to find that Hayden had overdosed on corrosion for days, weeks...who knows how long. I wasn’t willing to give up. I called 411-help me clean this corrosion! We gave it our best effort and did a battery transplant. But sadly, it was too late. Oh Hayden, if only you had kept your batteries dry as promised, we could be together even now.Old review: Had this for two months now and it's working well. It complements the kitchen faucet perfectly, has a solid feel, and works smoothly. The rubber feet keep the base out of water. The only downside is me. I have had to unlearn the habit that if the soap is auto so is the faucet usually (like at a public restroom) so if I'm not thinking, I'll put my hands under the soap, then hold my hand under my own faucet expecting water to automatically come out. Yeah, our faucet ain't that fancy!
