The unit was a little tricky to put together, but I figured it out (except the black spiky thing - no idea how to use that). Anyway, I apparently don't need it. My buttercrunch lettuce grew extremely fast - full growth in about 1 month - amazing! I used both the grow sponges that came with the unit, and also some leftover aerogarden pods (which you don't need to sprout in the water pan first, you can just plop them right in the unit because they're longer and reach the water underneath). Overall, very happy with this and will look to purchase another unit after a few more months of testing.The seller was also very responsive and helpful when I had a problem.

First I want to say it’s not worth the money! It doesn’t tell you what kinda seeds to use or that can be used with it. I now have to try and sell them for half of what I paid just to get rid of them! I thought it was gonna be an all in one system like AeroGarden and it’s just not! Well that’s were I’m headed next, after I find a way to get ride of these 2 very over priced hydroponic gardens I bought! So disappointed!!I searched on YouTube, Facebook and even tried to find a website that could help me better understand this brand but there was just NOTHING. If you really want an all in one system I definitely would not recommend this herb garden! The only thing this herb garden is good for, is MAYBE starting the seeds and then transplanting them to an outdoor garden but if you want to keep the plants in the system it’s NOT gonna work! 10 inches of height space for a plant to grow and yes it might work for like strawberries but you only get 3 spacers and you have 15 spots to fill, it’s just not worth it!You can’t go buy more spacers for it because they take a specific kind. It was easy to set up and the directions were simple but I don’t want to start the plants in the hydroponic herb garden then have to plant them outside. I want one that I can leave the plants in and a website that is a one stop shop for the herb garden.

I like my planter a lot. We planted herbs, lettuce and dwarf tomatoes in mid April and started harvesting by mid May. It is fun for us to watch food to grow and our son gets very excited when it is time to pick things.It is pricey, however it is also big - you can grow 15 plants. And it definitely saves us some money because we don’t buy whole bunches of herbs in grocery stores when we need just a few sprigs for a recipe. I am positive it will pay off for itself for a year.What I don’t like about Greenjoy is that you have to sprout the seeds in the tray.I also own a 6 pod Aerogarden Harvest And you just put seeds in the pod and stick it into the planter. I started both devices at the same time and saw same seeds to sprout faster in the Aerogarden, while some seeds never sprouted after 3 weeks in the tray.

What comes with this kit is fine, instructions are sufficient, unit works as advertised and the three types of lettuce and one spinach I've grown so far have grown well and been delicious.However, nutrient solutions and sponges eventually run out and the company directs you to Amazon for replacements. So far I've gone to the link provided and Amazon is always out of stock. Also, there are plugs provided that you need to plug the holes where there aren't any plants since if you don't plug the holes you get algae and fungus growing in the water. But the kit only comes with 4 plugs, and there are 15 planting holes to fill. When I contacted the company for more plugs I was told they don't sell them separately and they recommend I fill each hole with a plant. Well that is totally impractical because once they start to grow they get pretty big and need space to grow. So I've been using masking tape to fill the unused holes. Pretty lame support imo since I can't imagine the plugs cost that much and it's pretty short-sighted to not provide more. I had intended to buy another unit since the units are stackable but the poor support has convinced me not to.

i love the quality of the design and the ability to grow multiple plants...kit comes with everything you need to get started....also, there's enough height to grow your plants to a good height

I love plant homegrown vegetables and eat them right from my yard. But I've recently moved to a new apartment which does not have an outdoor place for that. I got this Greenjoy indoor herb garden starter kit after comparing various products. I have to say it is actually bigger than I expected. The kit is quite smart. The led light is able to do automatic timmer. Air circulation is also included. Be advised that seeds are not included. But things like Nutrient solution A&B are included. I bought my seeds from the local farm. It has been weeks and my vegetables are growing quite healthy.

Buying herb from Whole Food supermarket or from Trader Joe can be quite expensive. Not only I found myself spend a lot on paying the fresh herb but more often they don’t last or stay fresh as I want them to be. Very annoying.. this is why I decided to try this growing system growing them myself at home. It does take sometime to set it up but once it is set up you will like it. There auto on and off light /timer built in, I didn’t have to buy any soil for it. Just need to make sure to fill water tank, this is very important. I know this will work great for me as my kid’s elementary school is also doing this and they call it a small green house. I have planned parsley, basil and mint...I see myself enjoy doing this. Very excited!

After a few months of use the pump stopped working and a few weeks later the lights stopped working as well. We are still able to use the base with a replacement pump and grow lights we purchased elsewhere.
