I use this cooker for cooking a multitude of grains in my small cafe. In the morning I do steel-cut oats and then keep them warm in the chamber. I cook grains for salads in the unit and it treats most perfectly. I add spice and only rarely get any scalding. The "dew catcher" tool is perfect and just one element of this unit that is designed so smartly. Non stick cooking bowl cleans like a dream and in a flash. Yet another quality product from Zojirushi!

Cook too slow

I bought two of these for use at our church's kitchen. These are really well constructed and look really nice too. They make a ton of rice, 20 japanese cups which are a bit smaller than our size cups. But when it cooks you get about twice that much which is great for large groups and events. Cooks quickly and keep the rice warm without burning for hours. Clean up is quick and easy. We use them at least twice a month and this brand is quality! I have two at home which I have used for years without any problems.

After 9 months, it stopped keeping it warm. It cooks, but something happened to the timer for the "keep warm" and it goes cold.I contacted Zojirushi to find that the warranty is for only 6 months. No wonder I couldn't find warranty information anywhere on Amazon or Zojirushi's website.The facts that it broke so quickly and that the warranty is so short are unacceptable for a brand charging such a premium for being "top quality". For that kind of disposable performance, there are brands out there for $100.

We purchased this for our large family vacation (there were 45 of us) and it was perfect to have rice on the ready when we needed it and it kept warm throughout the day (rice doesn't last long in our family!).

I have been using this in my restaurant for 2 1/2 years and still going strong!!! This is the best commercial rice cooker. It is worth every penny.
