Fantastic lip balm , but a packaging nightmare!!
All I can say is that all of the other folks who said how difficult these tins are to open were NOT kidding! I had previously ordered the Smoked Salt flavor from Soap. com after mistaking it for the Salted Caramel. After realizing my error, I went back to Soap, but they didn't have the Salted Caramel, so I bought it here on Amazon instead. I guess I got lucky all around with the Smoked Salt one; not did I wind up really liking it, but the tin isn't hard to open at all. Again, based on other's feedback, clearly this was just a stroke of luck, and nothing more.As for this one, it arrived quickly and with no problems-until I tried to open the damn tin!! After several failed attempts, the only thing that wound up working was holding the top of the tin under super-hot running water for about 30-40 seconds (FYI....this method works great, but be sure to carefully hold it by the bottom portion of the tin, so you don't burn yourself on the hot water). While I was relieved once I got it open, I then realized that hot water wouldn't always be available every time I might want to open it, so I transferred the contents to a small empty jar I had instead. Problem solved. As for the balm itself, it's exactly as described-a sweet, salty caramel flavor. So many balms smell great and promise a pleasant flavor as well, only to end up tasting so unpleasant that they become hard to use more than once. Not the case at all with this one. I have chronically dry lips due to some medications I take, and this balm really does the trick. It would be nice if they made one with both flavor and color (such as a Cherry flavor perhaps), but since I prefer a more sheer lip look anyway, I just wear this one under regular lipstick or lip stain, which provides the best of both. I'm looking forward to purchasing more flavors as well...just as soon as I get my hands on some more small jars to transfer them to, that is!Great product, Tokyomilk, but you really need to go back to the drawing board when it comes to the packaging. Since so many people have complained about it, I hope they'll heed the feedback and do something about it.

Lasted over 2 years so it's worth it (open with the seals)
UPDATE: HOW TO OPEN... I finally figured out how to get this open easier. Where the paper seal is still attached to the top and bottom, grasp those and pull the top and bottom apart. Unfortunately, the last tin that I had, I tore those seals all the way off.I'm not the kind of person to spend 7 dollars on a lip balm but ever since I got one of these as a gift a couple of years ago, I have loved it. I have had my first one for that whole 2 years and you can see that there is still some left in the tin. I figure something that works so well and lasts so long is well worth the $7. I could (and probably have) spent way more than that on cheaper balms because they don't last as long or work as well.I like to put this on after I clean my face and brush my teeth right before bed and a first thing in the morning. In the winter months, I have sometimes used a touch of this a couple of times during the day, but it really does keep my lips nice for hours. I didn't even realize how long I'd had this until I started looking for another to buy on my own.The other one was, I think, cocoa scented but the I wore all the print off the tin so I can't tell. This one in the green tea/jasmine flavor is not as nice but since the scents/flavors are (to me) so faint, it doesn't matter much. I do prefer the other scent though. The one thing I hate is if you bang the tin up at all the lid becomes hard to remove. I have broken fingernails on the old one and ended up just resting the lid on the balm where I keep it on the makeup table. I want to carry this one so I will have to be careful not to bang up this lid. It's hard to remove even if you don't bend it.

Great product with an IMPOSSIBLE tin.
This is a great product! Feels great, though a little greasy. I can't stop smelling it. The only issue, like everyone else and their mom has said, is that the tin is dang near IMPOSSIBLE to open. These reviews are NOT exaggerating at all! It took me over an hour to open this thing, and by the time I was done (three broken nails, a bent kitchen knife and a blunted multi-tool later) the once-adorable little tin looked like it had been slammed with a truck. It's dented, scratched and beaten beyond repair. I can open and close it now that I've bent the lid a bit to give me more grip and loosen it from the bottom.THIS PRODUCT SMELLS LIKE HAPPINESS. I love salted caramel and I was very pleased to find that this balm smells EXACTLY like fresh caramel from a gourmet chocolate place. I was kind of expecting it to smell like a cheap candle or have the plastic aftertaste and smell of Chapsticks, but you can't smell anything other delicious desserts. It also has stevia in it so it tastes amazing too. Not sickly sweet, but the combination of sweetener and smell makes you feel like you're actually eating caramel. It has a nice consistency, although the petrolatum base makes it a bit greasy, but I can live with that. I can also put this on my peeling nose and it works wonders!Other than the issue of the tin, this is a phenomenal product that's definitely worth the price.
