That’s something some say was a favourite express of early 20th Century circus impresario, PT Barnum.With this product, you are basically asked to pay a couple hundred dollars for backup software sold with an unimpressive thumb drive. Apple users, in particular, would have to be morons to make this purchase.You can get a 256gb thumb drive from reputable companies with years of experience (e.g. Sandisk, Kingston, etc.) for as little as $30. Generics - like this product - are cheaper and plentiful. All the Apple user needs to do is select the drive for use in Time Machine (long part of Apple OS X)! Done. Backed up. Easy.To be sure, it would only be logical to spring for a 1TB or 2TB drive instead - and you’d still be far ahead of the game.I won’t say this product is a scam, but I think it is fair to say that it’s backers are relying on a certain lack of technical sophistication and/or market awareness to obtain the kinds of profit margins any other generic seller could only dream of.I say good for them. People are easily parted with their money, if the sales pitch is well targeted and placed in the right communications medium. Why not make money on that proposition?
