When replacement bulbs no longer were available for the Inatrap indoor flying insect trap, I had to find a new trap.After some research, I got one of these Dynatraps, which works using the same lures and killing method as the Inatrap: UV light and CO2 emission as lures, dehydration to send the annoying critters back in body bags to Planet Klendathu.The Dynatrap seems to be working to expectations. After a week on the job, I see no more flying bugs in my studio apartment -- except those in the death chamber of the Dynatrap.Admittedly, we in New York City have minor flying insect problems compared to those in rural areas. Here, the biggest nuisances are moths, mosquitoes, flies, fruit flies, and no-see-ums primarily.But I'm glad to be rid of them, and in the case of moths, so are my woolen clothes and blankets.Compared to the aesthetically pleasing Inatrap ("The Mushroom of Doom"), this Dynatrap looks more like an industrial piece than something that fits in with your home decor. Yoda would have used the Inatrap in his swamp hut; Darth Vader would have used this Dynatrap on his star destroyer.But the Dynatrap seems to give off a brighter light and suck in more air than the Inatrap, which I assume will prove effective catching more insects. The Dynatrap also has a much more robust power cord than the Inatrap, which I believe represents sturdy build quality.Perhaps most importantly, Dynatrap the company has been on the scene for a number of years now; Inaday, maker of the Inatrap, seems to have folded their tents not in a day but maybe after a scant two years or so. So replacement bulbs and parts for the Dynatrap are readily available, as I trust they will be for some time to come.So I give the Dynatrap a two-swatters-up recommendation, but I will report back if my opinion changes.PROS:* Effective against moths, mosquitoes, flies, fruit flies, and no-see-ums* Entirely silent in operation* Uses two kinds of insect lure: light and CO2 emission* Solid build quality* Replacement bulbs and parts readily availableCONS:* Looks like a bug trap

The media could not be loaded.  I despise mosquitoes and keep my bedroom closed when I open windows in other areas of the house. I ordered this product after one got into my bedroom and I couldn't sleep after being bit three times and waking up to swelling bites on my hand, arm, and ear.I searched on Amazon that night and ordered this product. I like that this also uses carbon dioxide for the trap. I bought this Thursday night, received it and used it Friday but didn't catch that little pest until Saturday (tonight). I was so relieved.I suspect that some users may not be setting up this trap in the most optimal way, and so experiencing poor results. I decided to put this in my bedroom hours before I went to bed. These bugs hide well, so it's better to give them time to come out. All lights were off except this one. I closed the doors. At bedtime, I peeked into the cage, and there he was. I couldn't believe it.I got some tips from other reviewers. First, be careful about opening the cage, you could let trapped pests out. I almost did, but fortunately, it was still stunned from being trapped by the rushing air. Peek inside carefully. Use a pest spray to kill any bugs in the cage before you open it, preferably while the fan is spinning to keep them all at the bottom. I didn't have any spray at the time, so I used an alcohol and water mix. That seemed to work.I took some videos and photos with my iPhone. I used a flashlight to better see the bug as the blue light from the trap is dim. I had the phone right up against the cage, so you can see inside pretty well.Some were concerned about how bright the unit is, so I took some pics of it exposed and behind a monitor. The blue tint around the room is accurate but the lamp came out white, imagine it at the same brightness but only blue. Maybe the UV light is affecting the iPhone.The sound level is that of a 5-inch room fan on low.I hope others have good results like I did.

At first I was getting very frustrated with this and I almost ductaped this to my head to see if with me as bait it catches anything :) , it wasn't catching anything and mosquitoes would still get me, I tried the places where they usually get me by my computer monitors or by the sliding door when I let my dog out but nothing, I tried it near an old recliner I have and then t started working like magic, even when I'm not there by morning it catches some, I do let it run all night and day if I forget to turn it off when I leave for work so I'm happy with it just cant move it from that spot I guess, maybe the old recliner stinks like me or something but works in that area or maybe like they say in the instructions the dead bugs in there act as bait as they decompose who knows, as long as I see new dead mosquitoes in there every morning.This was delivered really fast, I think the next day I ordered, the light and fan noise don't really bother me is not louder than a laptop's fan and is not really that bright to bother me while watching TV, I'm not sure if I would recommend it since it depends if you have patience to figure out where it works but if you are the kind of person that likes to experiment sure, if you want to just get it and leave it anywhere and forget about it might not work as good.
