Powerful, Lightweight, and Easy to Use!
I recently purchased the BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX Cordless Hedge Trimmer, and it has made yard work so much easier! The cordless design is a game-changer—no more dealing with tangled cords or searching for an outlet. The 20V battery provides plenty of power, allowing me to trim bushes and hedges with ease, and the battery life is impressive for my needs. The 24-inch dual-action blade cuts smoothly and efficiently, reducing vibration for a more comfortable experience. It’s also lightweight and well-balanced, making it easy to maneuver without causing my arms to get tired. I love how effortlessly it slices through branches, giving my yard a clean look.Overall, this is a fantastic hedge trimmer that’s perfect for homeowners who want a powerful, hassle-free, and easy-to-use tool for maintaining their landscape. Highly recommend!

Quiet, easy to use and gives outstanding results.
I purchased the trimmer only as I have B&D tools that use the Li-Ion battery system and have 4 of them, a regular charger and a fast charger. The trimmer is not only pretty light, it's extremely well balanced as well, so use-fatigue should not become a problem. It also gives much better flexibility that similar corded trimmers with unlimited freedom of movement, angles of approach, etc. It's incredibly quiet in use and cuts like butter through small and medium stems. Larger stems (1/2" to 3/4" take a slow, gradual approach to cut them in stages or it will jam (easy pull-away removal, though).I used it first to square off a very large rectangular evergreen hedge outside our front window (about 8' x 4' x 5') that had explosive growth since mid-spring. It gave me even cuts with ease, no binding, smooth and easy to control. It took me all of 15 minutes, after which the battery wasn't even warm which told me it wasn't being drained too quickly. I switched out the battery (to recharge) for the next project which was clearing a very large area of brush growing between our new house and a small creek that runs behind it. It handled the approx 200 sq. ft. of growth without a single hitch. Again the battery was not running hot, so the trimmer was not being over taxed. I was thrilled with this first use.A few recommendations, though: before first use, spray the blades with a lubricant such as WD-40 & let the blades run for a few seconds to distribute. To help reduce or eliminate any sap build-up on the blades afterwards, spray it again and run the blades for 15-20 seconds to help clean and prevent any binding on the next use. Finally, unless you have two or more batteries, I suggest you also purchase the rapid charger. Your batteries will be fully charged in 15-20 minutes rather than the 45 minutes or more the standard charger (supplied with the kit) will take.I couldn't be happier with this purchase and have absolutely no buyer's remorse. B&D has come through again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Enjoy.

Makes the job easy
I have never used a hedge trimmer before but needed something to trim the bushes in front of my house. This worked great. I also have a Black & Decker trimmer and the batteries are interchangeable. I'm 80 years old and have arthritis in my hands. It was very easy to shape my bushes the way I wanted. The hardest part of the job was cleaning up afterwards! This trimmer does everything I wanted it to do.

Great product, but could be DANGEROUS as delivered (but there's a fix!)
When my 20 year-old 12V (ni-cad battery) Black and Decker cordless hedge trimmer finally wore out (model CHT-600) my first move was to attempt to build on that successful longevity, and purchase another Black and Decker product. Especially when the new "20V MAX" model utilized a significantly better battery source: lithium ion. I've already been using the 20V MAX products from their sister company, Dewalt, (made by the same Stanley/B&D corporation). And just like I had been previously able to interchange my 12V ni-cad batteries between the old cordless B&D hedge trimmer and my numerous 12V Dewalt power tools, I had expected to be able to do the same with this NEW 20V MAX hedge trimmer. That's where problem #1 immediately appears. These new lithium batteries are NOT interchangeable between Dewalt 20V Max products and the Black and Decker 20V MAX products. So now I have a lot of Dewalt-only 20V MAX batteries, and a number of B&D-only 20V MAX batteries. And now, a "collection" of different chargers for each. I can envision the B&D product manager's Powerpoint slide extolling the increased sales resulting this somewhat dubious keyed battery "virtue" when this product was under development. As an engineer who has worked quite a bit in the application of lithium ion batteries in portable Silicon Valley devices, I can only conclude that this "keying" of the batteries to eliminate interchangeability was a "bottom-line" support move, and not a particularly consumer-friendly path. It's not a huge problem, but truthfully, who really needs yet another unique new charger to populate an already crowded work bench already filled with Dewalt chargers?Problem #2, I'm afraid, is yet another bottom-line support move that I believe that same product manager should have thought more about. My old B&D trimmer came with a very effective blow-molded hard plastic "sheath" that protected the blades, and probably quite a few fingers, when the trimmer was in storage. This new "bare" version of the product came with no such sheath. My expectation was that "bare" meant no battery. OK, I get that, but bare also seems to mean NO safety sheath of any kind on this new model. When I inquired with customer service at B&D HQ, the representative agreed, the product ships without any protective sheath, but that one was available that could cheerfully be shipped out to me at no charge. When a small envelope showed up from B&D a week later, I immediately assumed that something must be wrong: How could a protective sheath for a 22-inch hedge trimmer blade be sent in such a small envelope? In the envelope was a folded up plastic slip case, made of fairly lightweight vinyl, and, seemingly so light that the simple act of application and removal more than a few times would result in its self-destruction. No comparison at all to the hard plastic case on my old 16-inch B&D trimmer. Good news is that after searching the internet for hard plastic sheaths that could handle a 22-inch blade, I FOUND TWO, both from ereplacementparts.com (they have an Amazon store, but these items are not listed). I purchased two, the best of which being their WORX P/N 50014779 which for 10 bucks looks as if it's exactly designed to fit this new B&D trimmer. But it it appears to be out of stock now at eReplacementparts, so purchasing that same item may take some internet digging to find another source. I purchased another (pretty) good hard-plastic alternative sheath, Black & Decker P/N 90580554, also from eReplacementparts for about 3 bucks, and it's an actual Black and Decker spare part, but with limited availability at this same company. (Those same part numbers can be sourced from many other online parts retailers, as Amazon searches did not turn up any supply via Amazon). I guess my "message" here is that the consumer should not have to shop the web to find the parts necessary to achieve reasonable safe use and and storage of a brand new purchase. B&D's actual cost to include even a simple piece of extruded hard plastic as a reusable protective sheath for this 22-inch trimmer is most likely under 20 cents. And that including even a minimal hard plastic sheath with the standard product would not have chased me away with the cost/price increase. One more comment: this product, with or without a safety sheath, is great at trimming hedges!
