Corelle White 28-OZ Plastic Lid 428-PC

Fits as snug as a bug.

Bought this lid to fit theI bought this lid to fit on the Corelle Livingware 28-Ounce Super Soup/Cereal Bowl that I bought with it. It not only fits this bowl, but also the 18-ounce Corelle bowls I already have. It creates an excelllent seal on the bowls. I am 62 years old, have very small hands, plus have arthritis in both hands, and I have no problem putting it on or taking it off the bowls.

I have not yet USED this lid, but my initial impressions and fit-test are positive. It feels substantial, not flimsy, but it does flex — i.e., it's currently neither too rigid, nor brittle.The care instructions molded right into its underside say that it's safe for the freezer, microwave, and top rack of the dishwasher, though I've yet to try any of those. Since the lid is definitely not cheap, $$-wise ($5.76 for one! I hesitated before ordering, though it will be quite useful in the refrigerator), I don't want to chance ruining it by microwaving — I have other M/W covers which work fine, but no other sealed-storage lids which fit those bowls!As for that fit, the lip is smaller at its bottom than at the outer rim, and at first I wasn't sure I'd be able to get it fastened on without tipping the bowl (which naturally would be a no-go if the bowl were full), but I found the trick: press gradually around with two hands at once, one on each side starting from a single point, and it will latch snugly and securely onto the rim of the deep-domed Corelle 28-ounce bowl it was designed for.N.b., it will also go onto the shallower, more slant-sided Corelle cereal bowl of nearly the same diameter (incidentally, although that size is called 18-ounce, I'd say it holds more like 16 ounces), BUT that is a slightly loose, rattly fit, clearly NOT a seal.

These should just come with Corelle bowls. They make the bowls so much more versatile and useful. It is silly, to me, that the 28 oz and 18 oz bowls take different size lids. But it is what it is. These will not fit the smaller bowls, but they fit the larger bowls just fine. Very happy.

This lid does not fit any of my new or older corelle

It is extremely difficult to snap on to the bowl. I'm afraid I'm going to break the bowl each time I use it.

I was so excited to see lids for my Corelle bowls. I love the fact that now my bowls can double as refrigerator storage for leftovers so I can reduce my plasticware collection. LoL. I believe I saw another size lids for other bowls so I may get those as well as I have never seen them anywhere else than on Amazon.

If you have the bowls, you need the lids! Perfect fit. Dishwasher (top rack) safe.
