If you live on a farm like us and are constantly tracking mud and grit and dirt etc into the house, this is the doormat you need. It is super durable. We have owned a smaller one of these for years which has held up fabulously and so I decided we needed a bigger one at the front door and moved the smaller one to side entrance. This mat traps dirt like crazy and I just shake it out now and then over the side of the porch. The texture really gets into your boot treads to knock out trapped dirt, and for people like me who are tracking through chicken and horse poop all day, this is a great mat to really scuff your boots on. I only wish they came in even bigger sizes ( I got the 24 x 36 one) . Very good price. You will be glad you bought this.

I actually purchased this mat to use in my pot belly pigs yard, as a scratch pad. The ones I've seen specifically for that purpose are just too expensive. This mat is amazing, and works perfectly!! I cut it into three pieces, and attached each piece around the bottom of fence posts. My boys have been in hog heaven, having them to scratch on after getting out of their mud bath!!! Each section has held up perfectly with an 80# and 120# pig scratching on them, so I'm thinking these mats will withstand anything!!!! I plan to get more, and put them along the walls of their new Pig Palace building! And probably add one by the back door for scraping pig/dog poo off the boots!!

This is the best outdoor rug ever designed. Made in St. Louis, Missouri, with love, these Clean Machine rugs have been made for decades. I believe the company also invented Astroturf. It just doesn't get much more American than that. My grandparents had one of these in green, with a daisy in the corner. Give this company all of your money, they deserve it, your shoes deserve to be clean, and you deserve not to track mud and grass into your house. No other outdoor rug will do all of this. Buy Now.

Other mats only scrape off mud and dirt stuck to the bottom of the tread. Material stuck in the grooves of the tread is usually untouched. This mat looks like rough Astroturf and has firm plastic grass-like blades that help scrape junk out of the treads. This means you track less dirt and debris into your home, shop, or office. These mats are utilitarian while other mats are just nice decoration.

I confess, this mat is not quite what I was expecting when I ordered it. I was expecting something more like what I imagined Astroturf might be, must be, considering that it’s especially well known for professional sports fields. I guess I was expecting something that looked and performed a lot like a good, thick bluegrass lawn, the ideal sports field - moderately thick, strong, resilient blades, densely packed, sticking nearly straight up, perhaps an inch and a half high. And that’s not quite this mat.This mat is only 3/4” thick/high, and the plastic blades, for whatever reasons, are all kinked, folded part way over roughly in their middle. (Perhaps to give some added bounce/spring to the surface?) The close-up picture at the top of the product listing page actually shows this all pretty well - but I failed to look at it until after the mat arrived! So I’m not sure how impressed I’d be with this mat material if I were using it for a football field. But for an outside doormat, it seems to be just fine. The sea of kinked blades seems to be a very effective surface on which to wipe and clear the bottoms of your shoes/feet - and to trap and hold any debris down within themselves. And I haven’t yet actually tried it, but it seems pretty certain that this mat will be easy to clean when necessary, by letting it dry if necessary, and then just turning it over and shaking/beating it out. So it works well, seems like a fine arrangement for a doormat.Meanwhile, I reckon I still don’t know for sure what Astroturf really looks like - or whether this mat really is (some kind of) Astroturf. Astroturf has a big, fancy website, listing what appears to be like half a dozen different major varieties of Astroturf product, telling you at length how wonderful each of them is - but conspicuously omitting to show what any of them really looks like! Pretty darn obvious there that the Astroturf people don’t think that their product actually looks good up close! If this doormat really is Astroturf, then I’d have to agree with them: even if it were all bright grass green, it sure doesn’t look much like grass. But for playing football on, it must presumably be pretty good, or else they wouldn’t have such a big name in the business. And, as a doormat, this mat, this material, whatever it is, seems to work fine.So I give this mat 5 stars. Although only tentatively, until I see how long and well it lasts. Our previous, much less fancy doormat lasted something like 15 years before crumbling under the foot wear and the sun. If this one is really Astroturf, really used for playing football and the like, then it sure oughta’ do at least as well. We’ll see!

Camping MUST HAVE! I absolutely love this mat. We tried several different options to keep dirt out of our RV. This mat traps the dirt the best!! It's very sturdy, and although I just got it, seems like it will last a VERY long time. The color is a nice grey that matches our outdoor decor. I'll be buying more of these for outside my doors at my home as well.

We bought thee from another source a few years ago for our travel trailer. You woudl not believe how much dirt and sand comes out of these when you pick them up and shake them out.Wife contantly complained about how much dirt I tracked into the house. She prefers decorative welcom mats but I talked her into putting thee down. Problem solved

I have two dogs and a major construction project going on right now. Good old Virginia red clay is everywhere. I have tried several mats over the years and previously had two $80 mats. That don't hold a candle to these new mats. they would get the surface dirt, gravel, grass off the shoes but that was it. These new mats are large enough that you can actually stand on them while you wipe your feet and get all four paws of the dogs. I did the first cleaning of them today. Just a simple rinse with the hose and they looked brand new. very well made and heavy duty.Worth every penny
