Backup Pro 14 - secure, rescue and restore your files - backup software - complete back-ups for folders, partitions, hard disks and entire computer systems

Simple to install and use. I installed the program and made my 1st total disk backup then tested the restore function. I placed the restored disk on a extra hard disk that I have as a result of updating to a new SSD drive.The restoration was made using the rescue disk created by Backup Pro 14 program and everything worked without any failures. I booted from the restoration disk without any problems and everything worked fine. I have had backup failures in the past when I needed a restoration as a result of a corrupted disk. I now have a complete and easy to use system and recommend Backup Pro 14 to anyone needing a secure and trustworthy backup program.

Extremely easy to use and very reliable.

I installed the program on my Windows Boot Camp PC, hoping that it would perform a Full System backup. Going through the initializing steps to perform the Full System Backup for the first time, I realized that these steps are just too elementary, like feeding an infant with baby food. Okay, some of us are not very computer-literate, but does it need to be this elementary? And here comes the final action: I click on the button to finalize my Back Up Task and the program keeps staying in the "Activating" status. And I am not sure what this means when I already activated and registered the program with my e-mail address. Technical support was only available through chat and e-mail and it wasn't easy to reach.

I installed this software and proceeded to backup C and D internal drives to an external Hard Drive. The software removed the D drive from the computer entirely, after working for 19 hours trying to backup. Then, when I rebooted the system, the computer will not operate at all. I sent an email at 7am to the company asking for help and received a general reply saying they would get back to me. After 3 days of silence, I received another general email saying they were backed up and would eventually get to me. I’m now going to take the computer to the store to get the disks fixed or buy new ones. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SOFTWARE!

Edit at bottom after 4 months useFirst off, this is an update from the 2020 version. I bought both this and a week later the 2020 version directly. There is no upgrade path as such. The fact the purchases were a week apart makes no bloody difference.Yet it is an interesting product...that I have yet to actually have to recover from!!!!For the last 8-9 years or so I've used the Chinese product EasusToDo. Lately every time I make a change in my systems, they require me to buy a new version. Heck with that!Easus will make a clone. Ashampoo (where in heck did they come up with that name?)<G> won't. That, to me is a flaw. As I like to make a clone of an update then a system backup: a clone gets me back up sooner. I have one box w/ 3 drives each with a different OS, XP/W7/W10 toggled at boot. Ashampoo 14 (and 2020) will backup all three system drives in one setting. BUT it will restore all 3 as well, no picking and choosing.I have 2 laptops and 4 desktops on W10. I am buying another v14 family disc to give me coverage of all of these-----------------------Edit. The software very frequently cannot finish a backup. There is a sequence of system editing commands for W10 that fix this, but I don't remember them and am quite unhappy that I have to do this.Acronis is my new best choice. It's much faster, backs up in 5 minutes what Backup Pro14 takes 20 to ultimately fail, can build a bootable clone disc and many other things. I am demoting Ashampoo to **.

I have noticed Backup Pro from Ashampoo for several years but I used to use backup-drive manufacturer's bundled software which allows to use only their drive. Now I have a generic 2 TB SSD drive, I need a new backup software. Backup Pro-14 is very fast, user friendly (one touch button), versatile (you can select any drive to be a target drive.), easy to setup, and the cost is very low. One thing which I hope that Ashampoo will provide is a quick synchronizing feature. Microsoft SyncToy 2.1 does not do the job well. Anyway, Backup Pro-14 is the best backup software for both beginners and technically talented people.

Nice program does as it says would buy from again

I had been using a well known free programme but suddenly it told me without any warning that my licence had expired, had disaster struck I had no way of accessing my backups without paying. I then downloaded a different free backup/restore programme but found I needed a PhD in computer science to even set it up, I gave up and after doing a bit of research found Backup Pro 14. Setting it up was ultra simple because they use terms you can understand. I now have backups on an external drive along with rescue medium on a USB stick. Whether I will be successful in restoring them if I ever need to is something I hope I will never find out. What I do like is that I have all my personal stuff (documents photos etc) on a partition that can be backed up in a format that can be read on Explorer as it is not encoded.

Very good for the price

It works just as it says on the box. The initial backup is slow because it is copying everything but after that is much faster because the backups become incremental. Best of all it is there on disk so that in the event of a crash you have it to hand to restore the operating system and data. That isn't something you get with a serial number and a download.

Didn't come with any instructions at all, ok if you know your way around but avoid if your a novice. If you want to clone a ssd/hdd spend a little extra and get Acronis (So much easier)
