Very good quality. Super easy to install
Very happy with this door. Very airtight, easy to install. Because my door isn't flush, we caulked around the edge to seal it even more. The three flap doors keep the outside heat out. Ive noticed it is cooler in that area due to having the three flaps.

90% Perfect
The door was pretty easy to install, as we were just replacing another PetSafe door of the same size. We did need to run to the store to get longer screws, but that may have been specific to our main door. Once installed, you can notice immediate improvement in the magnetic seal. The area by our back door was significantly less chilly. It also holds up to some fair wind, and it gets very windy where we live. Today we’re getting wind gusts of 20mph, and the door does open during those bigger gusts, and then immediately closes again with the magnet. We made the decision to close the dog door, but that’s the first time we’ve had to do that for weather since we installed it a week ago. We were doing that daily with our previous dog door. The potential savings on utility bills is worth the price of this door!

Nice, Secure, Doggy Door
The media could not be loaded. Not too difficult to install. My husband didn’t even remove the patio door we put it in. It took about 2 hours. The doggie door is wonderful for our 55 lb GSP. I wish we’d bought it 2 years ago! It closes securely after he goes in/out. It will make a little noise from the double flaps. Nevertheless, those flaps keep the air, Texas heat, and elements from the outside out, and our ac in!The cover is great and easy to put on when the whole family leaves.

High quality door with low energy loss
This door has a metal frame, sturdy and square. It spans a 2” thick door, and of yours is a bit thicker, you can bridge the gap with white duct tape.Three flaps do a great job of keeping heat from leaking on or out, and wind drafts. This is the most energy efficient door I’ve installed (out of six, over the years). Two outer doors are tough plastic that pets won’t destroy easily. One inner flap is softer and thicker, for insulation and to let the outer flaps move easily. The outer flaps protect the inner flap from damage. Very good design. The inner and outer metal frames fit together perfectly. Ideal is still experimenting with end nuts for the long bolts that hold them together - no door maker has quite got that right yet, it seems. See pro tips below to make installation easier.Pro tips:- Use a circular saw (e.g. SkilSaw) to cut the opening. It’s easier to cut straight, square, and clean, than with a jigsaw - especially if you have a metal door. And you don’t have to drill those 1/2” corner holes.- It’s ok if you saw past your marked corners about half an inch - the frame will cover that up.- Screw one frame into your door temporarily with self-tapping screws. Remove it, and screw in the other frame. Remove both.- Use those screw holes as guides for the 1/4” drill. Then your bolts should go through nice and straight to join the two frames (in a couple of minutes).- Get all 4 bolts through one frame clear to the back side first. Then ease the back frame on.- Start each end nut by hand before you do any serious tightening. Two people are really helpful at this point - one on each side of the door.- Tighten all 4 bolts part way with screwdriver and wrench first. Then tighten them all down the rest of the way.- Good job - you’re done! Seal the edges if you want.

Good For Cold Climates
Installing the PetSafe Extreme Weather Aluminum Dog Door took longer than expected, especially in a metal door, but once in place, it worked great. The triple-flap design makes a noticeable difference in keeping the cold out—an important feature for Alaska’s harsh winters. Even our more skittish dogs quickly adapted to using it, which was a relief. One downside is that it’s definitely not chew-proof; if you have heavy chewers, you may want to reinforce it or opt for something more durable. That said, the flaps are easy to replace and reasonably priced, so it's manageable. Overall, it’s a solid choice for weather resistance and pet accessibility.

Weatherproof
Literally the best thing I’ve ever bought for my dogs. I was worried it might let in too much cold or let out too much A/C but the triple layers are perfect and they have the ability to come and go as they please. Win/win. I love being able to close it at night as well, to keep out unwanted animals and to keep the pups inside. Install and training was relatively painless as well.
