Cheaper and better than the name brand.
This is knockoff glue gun beats the pants off the Ryobi unit. Trigger is a little iffy, but I'd still buy again in a heartbeat.

Works great at half the price
Finally, a cordless glue gun. And it works with an interchangeable battery charging system I already have, it's half the price of the battery manufacturer's model, is lightweight, warms up in under 5 minutes, claims to run for over 3 hours, and has an off switch. USA-based small business, products made in China, Surebonder also offers specialty nozzles. The only thing missing is a temperature switch.

Lighter than I expected, and takes a while to heat up.
This unit works exactly as expected. It does take a while to heat up, but once it is heated, I have no complaints. It is lighter than I expected (I have a 6AH Milwaukee HO battery connected to it) and it just gets the job done. The device is not hot in the hands and is quite comfortable to use.

Great professional cordless hot glue gun. Not that heavy!
This is a really great high temperature cordless glue gun. As others have mentioned, it heats up in about 5 minutes (or even less). I would comment on a few things that I didn't see mentioned.It is a professional item and this has some subtle but very useful implications:* Nozzles are replaceable -- you can fit any Surebonder Pro nozzle and they come with variety of different shapes* Protection from burning yourself -- there is this rubber thing on top of the nozzle so it is actually difficult to get burned. Never got burned once.* It is full high temp pro-gun: you can use High-Temp Acrylic glue sticks that require slightly higher temperatures than regular high-temp glue sticks (but supposedly bond better)* The item itself is very light actually. Most of the final weight comes from the battery.- even with the battery attached it is MUCH lighter than a comparable size drill or impact wrenchAnd of course, the main thing:* it is completely portable! It is amazing how much difference that makes.A nice addition to anyone's Ryobi toolkit. Highly recommended!

A bummer
I really wanted to like this glue gun. It's a nice size, and gets hot quickly. But that's about it. It feeds the glue poorly which results in thick globs or glue, then nothing, then thick globs, then thin lines. Even with slow and even squeezing of the trigger, it give a horrible line. To top it off, after about 40 minutes of use, it stopped feeding glue sticks altogether. I have $5 glue guns from the 90s that work better than this. It's a shame.
