Phenomenal Printer
I have purchased and used previous Epson printers for the past ten years, and they have all exceeded my expectations. I recently purchased this new printer to printer larger and to have the ability to use larger, thicker papers. I've had my eye on this printer for the past two years and it should be noted that my (professional!) photographer friends all have and love this printer. Having a $300.00 rebate and going through Amazon allowed me to get the best price possible. It was at my home in days and was super easy to set up and start using. This printer is truly phenomenal and sets the bar higher than the competition. If you want superior performance and stunning prints, then this printer is you're looking for. Last, my friends, who have owned their Epson printers for over two years have had zero problems. You will not regret purchasing this printer!

Slightly Used, to say the least.
When I recieved the printer, it would not start until I replaced the three doors that were shipped loose. When I printed for the first time, the colors were way off. The reds were orange. The blues were purple.I called Epson for help and they told me to clean the heads three ti.es. if still didn't work, clean they again three times. During that process, I found out the ink in the printer was dated 2018. The ink was at least six or seven years old. After cleaning the heads six times, the printer seems to works pretty well. The ink cartridges are half gone because of the cleaning.Because of the age of the ink, I have to clean the heads periodically to maintain good print quality. For $1,500.00, I would have thought the printer would have been in better shape.

Just received my 2nd P800 from Amazon. Epson will not honor a warranty because like 1st unit is NOT for sale in US
Glad I checked the reviews regarding grey market machines. Called Epson when it arrived and was told the warranty on this machine had expired and was not eligible for their 1 year service warranty. Kudos to Amazon, as usual, immediately set up a replacement and I will call Epson regarding the new unit, when it arrives. I will keep returning till I get a new, warranted unit. Thanks Amazon. This is certainly a beast as one reviewer put it but it replaces my old 3880, also a beast, that was an excellent large format printer. Expensive, costly to operate yes, but exceptional color and B&W prints for sure. Hope I'm as happy with the P800.

I love my printer
I bought this a couple of years ago from here on Amazon. I didn't leave a review then because of sheer laziness, but today, I just happened on this entry again and thought I'd leave my thoughts. This printer has worked just fine for me. I've made 100s of prints without a problem. I had never owned a large printer before, and heard from my friends about how temperamental others could be, but I've never had a problem. No clogs, no trouble at all.I get these wonderful mat prints on the Velvet Art paper, the blacks are like velvet, I get comments from people who even wonder if I have painted this somehow. The only trouble I've had is in feeding the paper sometimes, but it's easy enough to peek in and ensure that it feeds right.

Gallery quality prints - restores what digital has lost
We've gained so much with digital photography that we rarely notice what we've lost. "The negative is comparable to the composer's score and the print to its performance," said Ansel Adams. In many ways digital photography is like writing music ... and then never playing it. We take zillions of photos...and then never print them. The Epson SureColor P800 is like having the Wrecking Crew show up, drag out all your music, and perform it! For perspective, I was a professional photographer for newspapers and magazines, primarily shooting B&W 35mm film (Tri-X). The photos printed were shot on a 24 megapixel Pentax K70 camera and Pentax Limited prime lenses.Color - I printed up to 17"x22" on Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper and Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster. The results were nothing short of breathtaking. The colors are realistic, but with great pop. The famous Pentax Limited bokeh looks simply gorgeous, whether with landscapes or portraits. Just frame them and hang them in a gallery.B&W - I printed up to 17"x22" on Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster. In my pro days I did a lot of wet dark room printing. I still have Ilfobrom Gallerie archival prints on my walls from those days. And, to be blunt, I've always hated ink-jet B&W prints. They always looked...off to me. I'm happy to say that B&W prints from the Epson P800 are every bit as good as the best wet dark room work. The blacks are rich and heavy and good enough to eat. The whites are clean and strong. And the resolution of this printer is staggering.Whether you are a pro, or just enjoying the great hobby of photography, printing with the Epson SureColor P800 will make you a better photographer.

Covered by a USA Warranty?
Three Stars because I'm sure the printer is great, but the one I received did not have a USA WARRANTY included. I called Epson with the unit's serial number and they confirmed that the model sold was for International sales. I returned it since it was not covered for repairs. Also, Epson offered a $300.00 rebate that I could not take advantage of because this International model was invalid. Too bad. I'll have to repurchase it at a legitimate physical store now to be certain that it includes a USA WARRANTY.

Great printer. Crazy expensive ink.
Beautiful quality prints. But I left off one star because replacing the 9 ink cartridges will cost more than I paid for the printer :-/

Printing issues
I should have done more research on this printer. I had so much success with my Epson 3880 I just assumed this product which replaces the 3880 would be as good or better. I ran into problems with printing. Prints would quit in mid print or only half of an image would print. I got the 3880 fixed and wrote the cost of the P800 as a bad decision. And yes, I called tech support. The lady I spoke with did not listen to what I was telling her about my problems. I explained what I was getting was good, the printer would print only part of the image. Occationally I would get a series of good prints, then back to incomplete. I wasted a lot of paper and expensive Ink!
