Buy a genuine Samsung brand battery.
This battery is NOT comparable to the Samsung original or genuine Samsung replacement batteries. It's good for about 4 hours of mostly standby operation; then it dies.Didn't have time to get a genuine Samsung delivered, but I will order one as soon as I canUpdate: Upon arrival, I was able to order a genuine Samsung replacement battery from amazon.co.uk. It arrived at 50% charge and, on installation, immediately powered up my device. I plugged the Galaxy in to charge the new battery to 100%. I ran the Galaxy until the battery was 10% and then recharged it.As of April 25, this new OEM battery is working flawlessly as my original Samsung OEM battery always did.(On close examination of the No-name battery I bought, I can see that it had already started to swell. That's what Lithium-Ion batteries do when they are failing.)So, be advised: if you can't find a genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer's battery, keep looking!

a bit of a new lease on life for an old phone
my oem Samsung battery was done. When I went to replace it with the new battery, I found the old battery had a cracked corner, too. The new battery fit into the phone just fine, and seems to charge much better, and hold the charge longer than the old battery.

Correct Samsung OEM battery - but not good
Batteries (and a lot of other things) from China appear to have wildly erratic quality. A previous battery was not as advertised. Performance was not acceptable. We carefully verified that this one was an original Samsung OEM battery. It was, however ! It apparently was an old product that had not been maintained and it also did not retain a charge - after four complete cycles. An experienced battery tech has advised that excess product (like these) are sold off and degrade as they sit in warehouses for several years. The challenge is the find quality (OEM or aftermarket) batteries that are fresh and from a reliable source.
