Q: Salt free system or water soft alternative means the same thing?

A salt-free water conditioner is different from a traditional salt-based water system. This unit is designed to neutralize the hardness to prolong the life of the whole house pipes and appliances such as the water heater. It does not remove the hardness and you may see some limited spots externally. Q: How many months/weeks after installation of the system before testing the water quality for PPM ?

This whole house system bundle is not designed to reduce the TDS (ppm) of the water. The green carbon filtration removes the chemicals from the water and the futura salt-free water conditioner is designed to neutralize the water hardness. Q: If i install this system in the garage for the entire faucet of the house, i don't have to install ro filter in the kitchen, right?

It doesn't clean the water quite as well as a RO system does but it does make it much better. I chose to also install the RO system for the coffee maker and refrigerator ice cube maker. Nice CLEAR ice cubes that don't smell weird!
