A Really Great Product. Self Installation Isn't An Option On Heavy Duty Rigs/Motorhomes
These are very good springs. They REALLY made a huge difference in the handling and ride of my Seneca Super C motor home with a C550 Kodiak chassis. They reduced rear end bounce by 75% and corner leans at least by 50% or more. They raised the slumping chassis by about 2.5 - 3".BUT, don't be fooled into thinking you can install these yourself. There is no way in hell anyone can install these with garage tools. My son and I spent 2 hours just trying to just get one in place and then discovered clamping them down into place if we did was a non-starter with anything but specialized tools. Super Springs gives an estimated 1.5 hours for installation. It took a Camping World Tech, with the right tools, two hours to install the first one after he had to drop the entire sway control system in the rear to get the spring in place. Total installation took about three hours so figure on spending almost as much as what you pay for the springs for the installation. BTW - You cannot possibly install these without the tool Super Springs sells to clamp the spring in place to latch the shackle. A C-Clamp just isn't an option. They are very large and stiff springs and they must be compressed almost flat to get them on.The overall cost was fine for me because the springs were worth every dime spent but, by no means, is this the inexpensive fix it appears to be based on the price of the springs.

Call the company first
As the description for the springs say it is for a F450. Even when you go on to the Super Springs website this is the spring that shows up for a F450. I had to find out the hard way that it is not. It raised the back of my truck about 2-3 inches, ride was very rough almost unbearable. The springs even shifted apart due to the rough ride. When I contacted Super Springs I spoke with the tech manager who is very knowledgeable about tow trucks and all the different size trucks. He told me my truck needed the SSA22 springs which is a single spring. He told me all I had to do was remove the bottom spring of the ssa17 and that would make it a ssa22. I did what he suggested and that made all the difference in the world. My truck is only 3 months old and I am back to almost the same factory ride which is just fine with me. If you decide to purchase helper springs I would recommend that you call them first. DO NOT go by what the website says.
